NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Rutgers University has suspended its head men's lacrosse coach as it investigates allegations of verbal abuse.

The university announced the suspension on Friday, saying that Brian Brecht will continue to be paid.

The school did not give details of allegations.

I missed the conversation here about the bball coach, but was I the only person in the country that didn't see anything wrong with the way he coached? Would I want to play for him? Probably not, but the overreaction was ridiculous IMO.

It's not just Rutgers.

Just this morning, CBS-13 posted a report about a verbally abusive J.V. girls basketball coach at a local high school who has been seen with condoms in his car and telling his players at least once a practice to "pick up your p#$$% and put it back in your pocket." The district supposedly "investigated" and found that his behavior didn't rise to the level of sexual harassment and have let him keep his job. :ohno:

And yes 89, you are the only one who didn't see anything wrong with what he did. :|

Condoms in his car? No way! That would mean that man plans on having sex sometime...and if you check the contracts of high school employees, they are not allowed to have sex...EVER!

As far as the language goes, you might ask him to clean it up a bit...but seriously, WTF is going wrong with this cuntry? Superbonnet, I have no idea of how you get along in this world while getting your feewings hurt each second of your life...your very existence has to be a struggle for you.

Have you met dback, skelly, and that Nostrodamus from Seattle?

Here's the deal, cluck. You get a bit more leeway in college, and maybe in HS with boys. But you absolutely do NOT put your career in the hands of a girl. The average person will see that comment as sexual harassment, and a HS girl isn't fully mature yet. She WILL be offended, and if she's not, a parent at practice WILL be. You run the risk of getting railroaded out using language like that unfiltered. And the condoms? As a male in charge of underage females, the natural assumption (yes, I understand the nature of assumptions) that the average person will make will be that he's going into predator mode. Transporting them from the drug store directly home or to a hook-up with a woman of suitable age is one thing. But having them visible in the car AT SCHOOL at least makes one question the level of his morals, or at least his judgment. Whether or not he's committed a crime is up to one's own interpretation. But he's certainly making some REALLY dumb decisions....

Speaking of REALLY dumb decisions, do you really think that a teacher having condoms in a car is an issue? :suspicious:

And here's the deal, Superduper, high school girls lay out that language, and worse, on a daily basis. Are you sure you aren't stuck somewhere watching Leave it to Beaver reruns...perhaps in a women's prison?

Good grief. :ohno:
