Coors Field
Coors Field
Have any of you ever been there? My fiance and I are headed to Denver for a week in August for our honeymoon and will be at the Cubs game Aug 7, but have no idea where to get tickets at section wise. Was wondering if any of you have ever been there

Re: Coors Field
The tickets are all expensive as hell. We are looking at the Right Field Concourse thing or moving down the line some but those are $50 I think. Not sure if I want to sit in the left field bleachers either since it will be a night game. We want to see the sun set kinda.TwinTownBisonFan wrote:not one bad seat in the house. none. even the rockpile (which is forever away)clenz wrote:Have any of you ever been there? Re: Coors Field
I've been to Coors Field more times than I can count. I've sat all over the stadium, left field, right field, behind home plate in the 2nd deck, 1st base line and I have to tell you, my favorite seats at Coors are in right field overlooking the Rockies bullpen. Perfect spot to be for batting practice, a lot of homeruns end up here, you can see bullpen activity, plus you're right on the right field line. Last time I was at a game Larry Walker was the RF and he can be a riot. Definitely do a night game in August.. Denver sucks in the summer to be sitting at a game in the sunlight. The first base seats we had were 7 rows above the Rockies dugout, those were cool seats too.. but they're probably a little expensive. I don't remember the seats being all that expensive, but it's been about 4 or 5 years since I've been to a game. Plus within walking distance of Coors you have a Hooters (if that's your girl's thing, or there's this bad ass and most fantastic restaurant called "Rodizio" that you absolutely have to take in for dinner while you're there. It's a block or two from Coors. Brazilian BBQ.. it's a buffet, but they bring to food to you on skewers instead of you having to get up. God it's awesome. A little pricey, but you'll walk out pleased and probably ready to hurl.

Excelent advice. Are the seats by the dug out your talking about the seats that are the lower section of the outfield? That is the seats we were looking at the most.
This is the photo that convinced us to do the night game, and the the Saturday day game

The stadium look just amazing from every picture we have saw.
Re: Coors Field
I was there July 4-6, 1995. That's the year it opened. The fireworks display after the game lasted almost 2 hours. We saw the Astros play the Rockies in all 3 games they were there. It was a sweet place then, so I'm sure it's still good now.

Yeah, lower right field deck next to the bullpen. If you show up a couple hours before the game you'll have a pretty good shot at a BP ball. And you can peek right over the wall and see the starter warming up before hand, then the bullpen activity throughout the game. My absolute favorite seats at Coors.

I was at a game in the old Mile High Stadium.. saw Barry Bonds (pre-roids) and Matt Williams trade HRs all game. Best pitching matchup I ever saw at Coors was Curt Schilling vs. Mike Hampton.. two CY Young's going at it was awesome.

Re: Coors Field
Best you could hope for a Cook/Zambrano or a Jimenez/Zambrano matchup, which could turn into who throws more strikeouts.
Damn I miss Rockies games!
