NFL.com columnist makes case for Tebow...
This guy says it even better than I ever could, through comparisons to proven LOSERS who have roster spots, while the proven WINNER Tebow does not. It seems that coaches and GMs are battling pride and fear of dummies in the media in not doing the right thing for their teams....

You are both high.
Coaches and GM's need to win, above all else. If anyone thought Tebow would help them win, they would sign him

If that's true, Jon, then why the heck do Quinn and that other punk have jobs, while a QB with an over .500 record and a playoff win is still looking?
This whole Tebow-can't-play-football attitude is nothing more than garbage....

Did Denver's D have anything to do with their playoff win?SuperHornet wrote:If that's true, Jon, then why the heck do Quinn and that other punk have jobs, while a QB with an over .500 record and a playoff win is still looking?

Where did I say that Denver's D DIDN'T have anything to do with that win? All I'm saying was that he took advantage of the opportunity given him, which is something that Quinn hasn't been able to do. For Quinn to get another shot while Tebow does not is patently indefensible....grizzaholic wrote:Did Denver's D have anything to do with their playoff win?SuperHornet wrote:If that's true, Jon, then why the heck do Quinn and that other punk have jobs, while a QB with an over .500 record and a playoff win is still looking?

He isn't a scrub, Jon. He's a winner. You can say he's a scrub until you're blue in the face, but that won't make it true.

You're right...he isn't a scrub....he isn't good enough to be a scrub.
Brady Quinn is a scrub...
Tebow isn't on that level of QB talent.

For the rest of you who seem so violently opposed to Tebow as a starting quarterback, your faulty idea that gaudy passing stats are the be-all and end-all of quarterbacking sounds a whole lot like THIS:

If he's such a winner, why has been shuffled around? Why isn't he signed? Why isn't he being courted by Pro teams that can offer more than $75/game?SuperHornet wrote:He isn't a scrub, Jon. He's a winner. You can say he's a scrub until you're blue in the face, but that won't make it true.
It's unprofessional to have your boyfriend write an article praising you. Tebow should be embarrassed.

NEW YORK—Forbes magazine named recently cut New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow as the world’s most influential former athlete Thursday, stating that the 25-year-old holds more sway than anyone else who used to play sports. “In the world of professional sports played before April 2013, Tim Tebow is king,” said Forbes sportswriter Tom Van Riper, adding that the ex-NFL player was still tremendously popular and held a position of stature among athletes who have concluded their careers. “We asked Americans which washed-up former backup athlete they believe wields the most clout, and most didn’t even hesitate as they said Tim Tebow.” Forbes sources confirmed that Tebow narrowly beat out fellow former athlete Derek Jeter for the list’s top spot
