Jesus it's shitty when those pesky facts get in the way of a good lynching. :coffee:

Please explain to me then good gentlemen, Why the team that got the Big Sky's Automatic Bid to the playoffs (hence finishing first) did not get the seed but the team that basically finished 2nd and lost to said automatic bid winning team by 17 got the seed?

Losing to Eastern Washington should not have mattered, when you win the conference, the team below you who even lost to you should not get a higher spot than you. Even if Weber would have beaten Eastern, Montana would still be ranked higher, there is no way they would have had Weber leap frog 5 teams to get ahead of Montana, especially after UM beat MSU that same day.

WSU- 7-1
UM- 7-1

Head to head WSU 45-UM 28

So why did UM get the seed again?

Money and name is why Montana got the seed, not because Weber lost to EWU.

Yes, you're half correct. Money IS why Montana got the seed. Money, and the fact that Weber lost to EWU. If Weeber had pulled their head out of their ass long enough to beat EWU THEY would have been a perfect 8-0 in conference, would have been outright BSC champs, and at worst a 3 seed in the playoffs. Please tell me the last time the undisputed BSC champ wasn't at least a three seed? Your team shit the bed and paid for it dearly.

Like I said before, get some more money.

You also might need to get a better name...are you even a basketball school anymore? ;)

MSU had more money than us, a higher ranking, and a lower seed last year. Just saying.

Weber still finished higher than Montana. True they tied, but Weber won the head to head therefore had the (if we were talking tennis terms) "advantage" in the tie, yet thier reward was a trip to California in round 1 and to watch the team they beat earlier that year take the seed from them.

It didnt seem to work like that last year, Eastern beat MSU in the reg season, but lost to SUU who lost to MSU, and Eastern still got the higher seed, so please explain to me the difference?

I dont see how Montana "deserved" or even "earned" the seed over Weber.

that's because you beat them, that's the point Im trying to get across, EWU>MSU last year hence Eastern has the tiebreaker and the higher seed, in 08 Weber>UM Weber has tiebreaker but UM gets the seed?

There is no other explanation other than money and name.

Losing to EWU on the last weekend of the season didn't help your team's cause any either.

Edit: btw, this incessent whining isn't helping. Man up and own it, dude. Your team takes care of business and its a non issue. They put the ball BACK into the NCAA's hands and then didn't like the answer they got? Tough shit.

It was not below the belt...more stomach region.

But like AZ stated, whining about games gone by does nothing to help your cause. Win and screw everyone else :thumb:

Jesus, it's not that hard

Weber State:
9-3 record
1-0 against NAIA
1-0 against DII
0-2 against FBS
7-1 against FCS

Lost at home at the end of the season to a 6-5 EWU team

Montana:
11-1 record
1-0 against DII
10-1 against FCS

Lost earlier in the season, on the road, to a 9-3 WSU team

I'd like to see Weber go 11-1, ever, and try to not claim a seed

So your telling me, that if the situation was reversed and UM beat Weber in the reg season but lost to EWU in the reg season final and both teams finished 7-1 and UM had the tiebreaker and the Big Sky's automatic bid into the tourney.......and then had to go play @ Weber for a reward that you wouldnt be upset?

Hypothetical of course, but I want your honest answer.

I accepted what happened and I have moved on, although sometimes it's fun to rant, and am now just hoping that Weber can just be competetive again. One thing I have learned about being a Wildcat fan is never get your hopes too high, cause then it just hurts more when it doesnt happen.

I agree, although you won't win this year's game. Saying we can't win a game after halloween is like saying the sky is blue; no s***.

Listen...it's akin to the small cadre of Griz "fans" who incessently bitch about the condition of the turf during the NC game against JMU. It just makes you look petty. It is what it is, and brocklanders ripped the tits off the argument about 3 posts back anways.

I havent been around very long, but has there ever been a time before 08 that the Big Sky team that got the automatic bid to the playoffs lost the seed to the team below them? Honest question.

Not to mention that whole win-loss/quality of loss/date of loss thing.

I'm sure the committee's still kicking itself for over-seeding a team that finished 11-1 and played in the chipper.

It did last year ;) Eastern had 2 losses Wash State and SUU. MSU had 1 loss......EWU

By 08 logic, MSU who was ranked higher and had 1 less loss should have had the higher seed.......but they didnt.....why was that? ;)

EWU
9-2
8-1 against FCS
1-1 against FBS

Lost at SUU

MSU
10-1
9-1 against FCS
1-0 against DII

Lost to EWU at home

The body of work favored EWU last year, and it favored us in '08. The majority of FCS followers will agree

EWU beat MSU at MSU
EWU didn't have two sub-DI games
EWU won an FBS game

At this point it's obvious that your personal bias won't let you accept that the committee made the right call.
