Are you saying a league with Duke/Carolina/Syracuse/Pittsburgh/NC State/Virginia is worse than a league with Kentucky/Florida/Mizzou?

No just saying Kentucky will drag all those other schools back into prominence past the ACC.

Kentucky as stated before will make these other schools straighten up and fly right.

Kentucky doesn't make the conference better from top to bottom

Outside of the top 2-3 the SEC is worse than every single "big boy" conference and worse than most of the true mid=major conferences.

It won't make their programs better...it hasn't in the past and won't now.

The old big east is a prefect example for that. The top part was the biggest names on basketball every year, the bottom never got better

I don't get how the American Athletic is better than the Big East, Big 12 or A-10. UConn and Cincy are good but do they put the conference ahead of conferences with Georgetown, Marquette, Kansas, etc.? I'm not sure it's better than the Mountain West.

I did it last week but I think I had:
1) ACC
2) B1G0
3) Big 12
4) Big East
5) A-10
6) Mountain West
7) American Athletic
8) SEC
9) Pac 12
10) C-USA

clenz is correct insofar as he goes. However, this conference is bogus in who they leave out. I'll take the WCC over the MWC and C-USA....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

How many key players are gone from the MWC? I know CSU lost their big man Iverson.

If you wanna look at it that way, 2 SWAC teams beat SEC teams. What does that say about a "power" conference?

Glad you bought up the SWAC normally I would gloat over this but the SEC will be looking for payback this upcoming season.Southern with their win over Texas A&M was one of the teams who was the other???? Was Alabama A&M the other???

Remember, Louisville is in the American for one more year, so you have to include them in this year's ranking.

And the mvc had a final 4 team that didn't win the regular season or post season title...and 3 teams come within 5 points of beating the national champs...where do we belong?

Also have s16 appearances by 6 other teams fun the mvc since 2006

Yeah you caught me and this is the first time I have spoken up for the SEC probably the last as well.I just think the SEC will be out for blood this season as stated before but wouldn't mind if they lost to SWAC based schools again!!!

Forgot about that but I'm not sure it's enough to overcome the middle and bottom of the conference in comparison to others. IMO, the Big 12 is better top to bottom and the Big East is better in the middle. The Mountain West has been on an upward trajectory and it will be interesting to see how they respond to losing some good players but I expect them to be pretty good again. In the end, it's all opinions though.

Who has the best mid major conference in D1 basketball.I say it's a toss up between the WCC and The Horizon League even with the defection of Butler going to the Atlantic 10.
