I was a DC United fan from my days living there (however brief) but... I just can't get in to it. I follow the EPL and the Spanish League... but in both cases my squads are mediocre to poor (Newcastle Utd. may end up relegated and Bilbao underwhelmed again)

For me its hard to follow EPL due to the time difference. In MLS I like FC Dallas, although their crowds aren;t nearly as fun as many others.

Yeah, that can really be a pain in the ass. It was really nice being able to watch Bundesliga/EPL/Champions League at a decent hour when I studied in Europe.

The Screaming Eagles have provided passionate support for United and have promoted Major League Soccer through their contributions in the community since the club's inception in 1995.

The Screaming Eagles have more than 600 active members and represent a wide variety of ages and nationalities. Where can you find Barra Brava members in Robert F. Kennedy Stadium?

A colorful array of sights and sounds surround any visitor who enters the confines of RFK. In sections 135, 136 and 137 "the bouncing masses" known as the Barra Brava, celebrate their passion for 'futbol' in true South American style at every home game.

The name Barra Brava means "Brave Fans" and is derived from the top Barras of South America soccer stadiums that show their undying love and passion for their teams. Molded in the tradition of the Barras of Bolivia, Argentina, Peru, Chile and other South American nations the D.C. Barra incorporates chants, songs, drums, banners, streamers and jumping. La Norte's goal is to fill the entire north end of RFK stadium with die hard United fans – dressed in black, red and white – who will sing and jump for the entire game. Esquina United
Section 115
Formed in 2003, Esquina United is comprised of fans who have enthusiastically supported D.C. United since the outset of Major League Soccer in 1996, before banding together to form the "Corner" of friendly fans near where D.C. United enters and exits the field of play at each match.

The group is made up primarily of Latino families, workers and employees in the service industries of restaurants, hotels and Hispanic-owned businesses throughout the D.C. area.

Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the group's leader, Sergio Guzman, at (703) 426-4550 or (703) 309-0261; via e-mail, or stop by their booth located at Gate B at RFK Stadium prior to each D.C. United home game.

I'm Guessing Fredy Montero of Seattle won't be with the club long. The kid is 21 and has already scored 3 goals. Watching him play he'll be headed to Europe by the end of the year. That guy is amazing at soccer.

Kasey Keller their goalkeeper got a red card early in the game for using his hands outside of the box. So they had to play man down for most of the game.

That being true it didn't really effect them for most of the game it seemed to me. They were attacking constantly and had some great shots on goal. Way more offensive then KC I thought. but KC got a goal late in the game and they couldn't respond.
If you have watched the Sounders play on TV and think man that atmosphere looks like crazy fun, it is.
We went to a couple of games so far and what a great place to go to and watch a game. The fans are %100 into their team and as fun as hell to party with. They are avg 30000 + at home games.
We'll also be going to the Seattle Chelsea game.

new england gave up a horrible goal in the 91st minute to DC. They are lucky though to come out with the tie. They were playing without a lot of starters and had no striker in the game. Joseph got a nice header goal, but besides that they really had no attack.

With or without David Beckham, MLS is alive and well—even thriving in some places. Nowhere is that more evident than in Seattle, where the expansion Sounders FC have joined MLS as the league's 15th franchise. Sounders games are loud—really loud. Fans pack Qwest Field, with sold-out crowds approaching 30,000. (Only the lower bowl of the stadium is opened for MLS games.) More than 75% of the spectators are season-ticket holders. Virtually everyone in the stands waves a team scarf above his head and chants for the entire 90 minutes, cheering on internationally accomplished players such as former Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg of Sweden and goalkeeper Kasey Keller, a veteran of four U.S. World Cup teams.

"This is the way it's supposed to feel," says coach Sigi Schmid, a German native and two-time MLS Cup winner with the L.A. Galaxy and the Columbus Crew. "This is the way it is when you go to a game in Europe."

MLS's new crown jewel—which was 4-2-0 at week's end—has many factors working in its favor, not the least of which are deep-pocketed owners with a global vision. The group includes majority owner Joe Roth, a successful Hollywood producer; comedian and noted soccer freak Drew Carey; and Microsoft cofounder Paul Allen, who also has a large stake in the NFL's Seahawks. That connection can't be understated: The Seahawks and the Sounders share office facilities, sales and marketing staff, a stadium—even a blue-and-green color scheme.

Seattle has been a hotbed for soccer dating to at least the 1970s and '80s, when the NASL team known as the Sounders routinely attracted crowds of 20,000. Youth participation in the state of Washington is among the highest in the country. Seattle was mentioned as a target for MLS expansion as far back as 1996, when the league began play.

But the return of pro soccer to the Emerald City couldn't have been better timed. The Sonics' move to Oklahoma City last year left Seattle without an NBA team after 41 seasons. Says Sounders minority owner and Seattle-area native Adrian Hanauer, "People had an emotional part of their beings ripped out of their hearts, and I think they were looking for something to embrace." With a pair of natural geographic rivals—Portland and Vancouver—scheduled to join MLS in 2011, fans in Seattle aren't likely to let go of that embrace anytime soon. - Jonah Freedman
