After hitting a season low 12 games under .500 at 30-42, and with rumors of Don Mattingly getting the ax, they proceeded to go 17-5 up to the All-Star break, entering the break at EXACTLY .500 (47-47).
While it doesn't seem possible, they've gotten even HOTTER in the 2nd half, opening up a huge lead in the NL West by firing out of the gate at a 21-3 clip. They have gone from 12 games UNDER .500 to 18 games OVER 500 in just 46 games.
Truly amazing...they've lost just 8 games since June 21st....and have added Carlos Marlol, Ricky Nolasco and Brian Wilson to their pitching staff in the past month.
