I don't really understand anything about SH.

NDSU won the Grantland Rice Bowl 14-7 over Wofford.

Last year's other FCS bowl games:

Boardwalk Bowl: GA Southern 49, Old Dominion 35

Pecan Bowl: Sam Houston State 34, Montana State 16

Camellia Bowl: Eastern Washington 51, Illinois State 35

Before you guys whine, no these bowls are NOT official. But they are tracked nonetheless.
Why are you bringing up FCS in a FBS discussion? WHY?
I was answering GATW's question.

Especially since I asked Willie which bowl OSU played in. Nothing to do with NDSU.
SH has a huge problem with FBS schools. I don't understand it.
It's their inherent elitist attitude [OK, this is mostly B(C)$ programs] regarding keeping the "have nots" out more by rule (written or not) than by merit. In my mind, you HAVE to have a legitimate playoff to determine a champion. Doing it with a computer algorithm that's written so as to keep out anyone not in a pre-determined "elite" group is flat-out WRONG.

There ARE some few exceptions to my dislike of FBS programs (namely Navy and North Texas, though only because my position coach is their OC and former acting HC), and there are only a few that I truly hate (among them U$C, ND, Michigan, and Ohio State). But in general, I dislike FBS as a whole, and consider the FCS champion to be the true D-I champion because they won the title on the field. And that holds even when I don't like the program in question (such as NDSU).

You would probably have been to one without knowing it if it was one of these. The Bayou Classic is also considered a "bowl" of sorts, but I don't think the NCAA recognizes THAT, either. Similar to the Grape Bowl, which UOP (then known as COP) hosted a couple of times in Lodi during mid-December. That was similar to a JC bowl, which is usually conceived as the personal toy of the host school, if they're "bowl eligible." I don't know if the NCAA formally banned this practice, but one thing is certain: nobody does it anymore. One year, UOP followed the Grape Bowl up with a New Year's Day bowl (one that WAS officially recognized by the NCAA), but that was pretty much the end of UOP's rather short-lived "golden age" of football. One of the guys has mentioned here that in most years, UOP was fortunate to make .500, and that is unfortunately true....

You can count on Bovine University losing their cool around mid season.
