MLB has suspended Josh Beckett for 6 games because they say he intentionally threw a pitch at Bobby Abreau that resulted in benches clearing twice in Anaheim...

6 games is no big deal, he takes 4 games off in between starts anyway.

It's not my bias against the Sox here. Beckett was a low-life piece of shit when he was with the Marlins too. He's a headcase. He deserves everything he's getting. He shouldn't be suspended for 6 games, he should be suspended for 6 starts. That's the way suspensions should work with all pitchers. Because you know damn well they'll alter the rotation so that he only misses 1 start, which is a load of shit.

exactly... concentration is lost by the umpire jumping up calling timeout... as I have said crazy things happen with pitches once that happens...

They should make it so all an umpire does is yell timeout... the batter and catcher would definately here it... they throw their hands because the pitcher may not hear it... Let the pitch proceed and it not count... the catcher being right there knows timeout was called so there cant be an argument about not counting the pitch

How many pitchers stay on the mound between pitches ever? Does this mean that the next time a batter walks towards the pitcher a couple steps before heading to first he is going to get a 6 game suspension? I sure hope so.

I think suspending pitchers is dumb. a 10 day suspension is only a 2 game suspension for most starters. For starters it should be suspended 2 starts, or whatever.
