What is the best game against a I-A this week? Take it to mean best chance for an upset, most complelling... whatever you want.

UMass got crushed last week. I'm rooting for Maine against their former CAA foe, but Maine usually disappoints. :ohno:

Oddly enough, I chose Central Arkansas at Colorado. The Buffs have been susceptible to I-AA's in the past and they plain old suck right now. Could be a nice win for UCA.

In the CAA there are 3 I-A games that that have a better chance at an upset than UR - NC State.

JMU has a much better chance of upsetting Akron. Akron was 1-11 last season and got rocked by UCF last week 38-7. Line for JMU at Akron will be low single digits. It will likely be around 2 TDs for the UR/NC State game.

Maine has a better chance of upsetting UMass.

UNH has a better chance of upsetting C Mich.

I did not know that that was the supposed criteria.

My criteria was basically if somebody was going to fly me to one of those games this Saturday, which would I pick.

If it's upset, then you have to go with Maine, but I would have ZERO desire to see that game.

I think Maine can beat UMass, and JMU can beat Akron.

Question: Why is UMass even in FBS? They have shown so far they cannot compete at all at that level.

WKU looked the same at this point in the Transition - and now look at them.

It wasn't the supposed criteria. 89 stated "Take it to mean best chance for an upset, most complelling... whatever you want." You used compelling which I believe is similar to complelling, others used upset.

There are some good games this week. I went with Cal Poly vs. Fresno but could have gone with SHSU/aTm, MSU/SMU or UCA/CU.

A .500 team in the Sun Belt. What are we supposed to see, the shittiest schedule in all of I-A? 1 bad I-AA game, 3 against this year's move-ups, a bunch of SunBelt teams... a pitiful Kentucky will be their marquis win (don't forget Jacksonville St throttled UK two years ago)...

vs. Kentucky W 26 - 35 Final
@ Tennessee
@ South Alabama
vs. Morgan State
vs. Navy
@ Louisiana-Monroe
vs. Louisiana-Lafayette
vs. Troy
@ Georgia State
@ Army
@ Texas State

This is a compelling game. Fresno St is picked to be a top Mt West team this season. Cal Poly in the same discussion as NDSU or EWU. A win here, especially after the last weekend results will really force FBS schedulers to really consider ahead of time whether they really want to play a top tier FCS program.

I think Maine at Massachusetts is the best shot at a FCS win but I think Central Arkansas at Colorado is the best shot for a win over a BCS automatic qualifier league team. Doesn't look as likely as it did before Colorado took it to Colorado State but still appears to be the best shot this week for a FCS win over a "name" school.

I hate to be the Debbie Downer....but does anyone else realize the impact all of these FCS wins will have? Without a "guaranteed win" BCS conferences will stop scheduling FCS teams to avoid being embarrassed and there goes the big income NEEDED by a lot of these schools just to stay afloat every year. :twocents:

I think that's overstated a little. The FCS teams that won are historical powers or recent Top 25s. The FBS teams knew what they signed up for. What might change going forward is that the really big-timers from auto-bid FBS leagues will simply skip possible stumbling blocks and go for non-Top 25 FCS. The NDSUs, UNIs, and EWUs might get screwed, but the lower tier FCS will fill the void.

funny how it goes from "not playing FCS teams to improve strength of schedule for playoff consideration" to avoiding FCS games because they are too challenging.
