Yep. Sarin, for instance, lingers in the air and gets stuck in clothes and on the skin. It's horrible.

The question remains, do we trust Assad to hand over all the WoMD? What is to stop them from handing over 1/3 of their stockpile or buying/manufacturing more? There isn't. :coffee:
Not to mention the ensuing squabbling over who will be the first to sell them new product.

T'man would be the first to start bleating and whimpering about the evil guvmint standing in the way of honest bidnizmen just trying to make a living but losing out on sales because of a bunch of socialist bureaucrats. :coffee:

sKerry continues to strike fear into the hearts of our adversaries.

Kerry: U.S. Attack On Syria Will Be “Small” But “Serious”…

Via CNS News:
Secretary of State John Kerry told the House Armed Services Committee Tuesday that any U.S. military intervention in Syria will be “small” in comparison to past military operations in Iraq, Kosovo and Libya.

Didn’t he say it was going to be “unbelievably small” yesterday?
Via Politico:

As President Barack Obama kicks off an all-out push for a strike on Syria, Secretary of State John Kerry came under fire on Monday for saying any attack would be “unbelievably small” and he also drew notice for suggesting the Syrian ruler still had a week to turn over his chemical weapons to avoid a U.S. assault – a remark Kerry’s spokeswoman later attempted to clarify.

I agree with your overall point though.

No. And No.
Of course there's a concern with the use of chemical weapons. But, 1400 deaths do not trump 100,000 deaths...unless, of course, you're the "Peace Prize President."

Trust Assad and the Russians? :suspicious:

We can't trust Obama and our own government.

Seriously, the list of campaign promises and international standards that Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, has broken is a mile long and continuing to grow. He's killed over 1,600 Americans in Afghanistan (Bush's total was around 630), he's repeatedly violated several country's sovereignty while repeatedly bombing villages and targeting bad guys, announced his desire for regime change in several countries (and then funneled arms or supplied air power to leverage those changes), invented his own definitions of "civilian" and "terrorist" in order to reduce the reported number of collateral damage civilian casualties from our bombs from the sky, and a whole host of other things that, if committed against the Unites States, would be considered acts of war and war crimes by a megalomaniac.

And yet people ask if we can trust the Russians? Please... :tothehand:

1,400 deaths? France is reporting only 500 or so casualties...apparently Obama likes to reference the bigger number.

SAY, did you see the news from Libya — the last country we bombed because its leader crossed a red line or was about to? Here’s a dispatch from Libya in the Sept. 3 British newspaper, The Independent:

“Libya has plunged unnoticed into its worst political and economic crisis since the defeat of Qaddafi two years ago. Government authority is disintegrating in all parts of the country putting in doubt claims by American, British and French politicians that NATO’s military action in Libya in 2011 was an outstanding example of a successful foreign military intervention, which should be repeated in Syria. ... Output of Libya’s prized high-quality crude oil has plunged from 1.4 million barrels a day earlier this year to just 160,000 barrels a day now.”

I keep reading about how Iraq was the bad war and Libya was the good war and Afghanistan was the necessary war and Bosnia was the moral war and Syria is now another necessary war. Guess what! They are all the same war.
Dude has some points in this article...but he is a clown. Read his "Arm and Shame" article (referenced twice in this article). :dunce:

The real problem with chemical weapons is that they are too much of an equalizer. Keep it to bullets and nobody can stand against us.

Starting to believe that no one from the president on down can tell the truth

On MSNBC last Sunday night Kerry said he & Hagel "opposed the Bush’s decision to go into Iraq"

Actually they both voted for it
You know, Senator Chuck Hagel, when he was senator, Senator Chuck Hagel, now secretary of defense, and when I was a senator, we opposed the president's decision to go into Iraq

Snap to it... Barack.

Putin Orders Obama To “Renounce The Use of Force” Against Syria If He Wants Chemical Weapons Deal To Proceed…
Via RT:
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Syria’s chemical arms handover will only work if the US and its allies renounce the use of force against Damascus.
