What climate change? Fewer people than EVER believe the world is really warming up

A report from the UK Energy Research Centre also shows the number of those who resolutely do not believe in climate change has more than quadrupled since 2005.

The Government funded report shows 19 per cent of people are climate change disbelievers - up from just four per cent in 2005 - while nine per cent did not know.

The report comes as climate change scientists working on a landmark UN report on climate change are struggling to explain why global warming appears to have slowed down in the past 15 years even though greenhouse gas emissions keep rising.

Dr. Roy Spencer, a former NASA scientist and author of Climate Confusion, argues in his influential blog the UN report shows scientists are being forced to "recognise reality".

He said: "We are now at the point in the age of global warming hysteria where the IPCC global warming theory has crashed into the hard reality of observations."

Green Party leader Natalie Bennett blamed the Government for the increase in climate change doubters.

She said: "When the government is so clearly failing to act on climate change, or take seriously its obligations under the Climate Change Act, it's not surprising that the level of doubt about climate change has risen.

- 28% of voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in the 9/11 attacks. 36% of Romney voters believe Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11, 41% do not

- 20% of voters believe there is a link between childhood vaccines and autism, 51% do not

- 7% of voters think the moon landing was faked

- 13% of voters think Barack Obama is the anti-Christ, including 22% of Romney voters

- Voters are split 44%-45% on whether Bush intentionally misled about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. 72% of Democrats think Bush lied about WMDs, Independents agree 48-45, just 13% of Republicans think so

- 29% of voters believe aliens exist

- 14% of voters say the CIA was instrumental in creating the crack cocaine epidemic in America’s inner cities in the 1980’s

- 9% of voters think the government adds fluoride to our water supply for sinister reasons (not just dental health)

- 4% of voters say they believe “lizard people” control our societies by gaining political power

- 51% of voters say a larger conspiracy was at work in the JFK assassination, just 25% say Oswald acted alone

1. Global Warming could be real, but not (caused by human activity) but instead caused by changes in the sun.
2. Global Warming could be real, but caused by large scale weather modification programs which have been taken place for the last few decades.
3. Global Warming could be a natural warming period- but pounced on by the elite to herald in new "carbon taxes" on every living human on the planet.

My opinion: "Global Warming" is a natural fluctuation because other planets are experiencing a simultaneous "warming trend" but then again, the Earth has NEVER remained the same temperature EVER- as the Holocene Epoch, "Mini Ice Age" and "Medieval Warm Period" have demonstrated.

And if you can't even unequivocally attribute a change in the climate to any particular cause, how can you possibly unequivocally predict what the climate is going to do based on things you think cause the climate to do things?

It may not be "true science", but that does not mean that it isn't true. The earth has warmed and cooled in the past, there is pretty strong evidence that it is warming now. Man may or may not be responsible, but denying climate change seems pretty stupid considering the overwhelming evidence that is out there.

Of course, the earth is only 5000 years old and Jesus never mentioned that his T-Rex was cold, so the earth must always have been this warm. The glaciers aren't receding, it's just another David Copperfield trick.

I do not agree that a secretive power elite is conspiring to eventually rule the world through an authoritarian world government- I believe they already do rule the world.

The problem, I think, is that the general public has ALWAYS had too much faith in what it possible here. They think because scientists say it and it's described as "science" it must be true. But it is not and can never be true science. True science with respect to cause and effect requires controlled experimentation. And the situation just doesn't lend itself to that.
