Wow!!! I see what you mean, D1B...those protesters look like professionals and working-middle class Americans peacefully protesting and articulately expressing their complaints about Obama's self-destructive policies, not like these violent, censor-seeking, amoebic-I.Q'd, Dumby Donk protesters you so despise...

Protesting against Bush advocating the violent overthrow of the Bush Administration (with no arrests and no DHS reports accusing them of being potential domestic terrorists... )...BTW, the ZZTop looking banjo player appears :24 seconds into the vid...

it's sort of that idea in advertising of convincing the consumer that their decision was entirely their own highly-educated and good looking idea... ;-)

It was a very heart warming event, concerned patriots publicly showing their concern for their country, and love and compassion for their fellow man. A truly admirable showing by America's conservative minded citizens.

And why do you hate America so much?
I don't hate America, I hate the man you enlightened ones elected as big government, dole out more welfare to lazy f**k[*] who run companies into the ground to begin with a f**k[*] tax break, sack of shit mongrel named George Walker Bush. The asshole names known liars and cheats to his cabinet, his vice president laughed about spying on American citizens, holding Americans hostage in an illegal war, and named a known neo-con man in Donald Rumsfeld to lead the Pentagon. He's a twatswab and I am so glad he and his useless family are out of office. I was tired of hearing his butchering of the English language and his wife's push for NCLB.

USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FIFY.

This isn't just about Obama, and it isn't just about GWB. It's about those in power, FROM BOTH PARTIES, that spend, spend and spend. Paying income taxes (while I am against them) are not keeping me from owning a house. I don't like paying taxes anymore than the next person, but the problem isn't me paying taxes, it's my money being misused and spent unwisely. I'd be more willing to pay what I pay now if I knew the money was going to be spent wisely, and we were getting a good "bang for our buck." At this time, we're not and Congress is just as much to blame as the president(s). Re-focus your efforts to the right charge, and you might see some real change.

I've found most of these posts pretty humous and appreciate the use of Somalia to poke fun at capitalism but I hope you really don't believe that Somalia has a free market. Somalia is ruled by warlords and is probably more of a feudal economy than a free-market economy.

I use it to poke at "libertarians" who go on and on about how left without "guv'ment intervention" everything would thrive and be hunky-dory.

I recognize that Somalia is a failed state. However I would point out that the warlords and feudal economy developed in the wake no effective central government.

I'm not sure if we have any 100% libertarians on here. Most recognize the need for some form of government but disagree over the services that the government should actually provide. The liberal idea that the government should help out those in need is not a bad one but neither is the more libertarian position that a person needs to be responsible for themselves and work to get out of whatever hole they are in; the decision to help should be voluntary and is best done through private charitable organizations.

Now feel free to continue to ridicule the people who look like real yahoos in the crowds. People who drink either color of kool-aid (red or blue) and follow blindly without thinking should be ridiculed.

fyi, my post wasn't directed only at you. I meant to say "...I hope people really don't believe that Somalia has a free market."

i would agree... to an extent while I would be labeled a socialist around these parts... fact is, I'm an LBJ/FDR liberal (which isn't socialism... not even close). the trouble for me in these discussions about "drinking the kool-aid" is the fact that quite frankly I don't drink it... but I throughout my career have mixed quite a lot of it ;-)
