I agree 100%. However, the system has been corrupted. I hate to tell you guys this, but America is really only a democracy by name. There is no real majority rule anymore, the rule is to change the voting area to increase your chances of getting the outcome that you want. Most states have gerrymanded the system that it doesn't matter how poorly a job the elected rep does, that 9 times out of 10 or more they'll beat the other parties candidate in re-election. The 1919 World Series was cleaner than modern day American politics.

The Tea Party members are in heavily gerrymandered districts and face no consequences for this.

Uh, so do the other 80% of Congress that continually fails year after year, regardless of which party they hail from. When only maybe 90 of the 435 seats in Congress are competitive, and that number is shrinking, it's a bigger problem than just the Tea Party.

These 300 yr old documents (which by the way served us pretty well until recently) are being ignored or simply cherrypicked these days. Times change, people change, and the documents are given amendments unless of course you just throw in an attorney general who makes up his own rules. :coffee:

Incumbency is huge problem across the board. But this train is being mostly driven by the TP. They can afford to hold out longer than rank and file Republicans. Watch the Republicans from contested districts...'ummm...mumble, mumble (whipping sweat from brow) Obamacare is bad BUT'

Theyre nervous about where this is going.

My home phone number growing up was "IB" and our last name.

So whenever a friend asked my number I'd say "I be <my last name>". Those of you who know my last name, please don't prank my parents. Thanks.

It does not effect you. You have Health Insurance.
The company I work for went from a copay to a $1200 deductible plan after Obamacare was passed. It will eventually impact more than just the people that can't afford healthcare as healthcare from corporations will be unaffordable.

So I hadn't received any notices from my insurance company regarding the ACA and just got off the phone with them. I privately insure my family which means I should be among those getting screwed and/or would have to re-enroll to be compliant. But guess what? Nothing has changed. Nada, zip.

And my rates won't be increasing beyond the normal expected increases.

Gonna meet with a broker next week to see if the ACA has created even better deals...both for my private family plan and in regards to the business (I'm a ruthless conk overlord with less than 50 employees who doesn't currently provide health insurance but would really like to be able to afford to at some point  ))

Step 1: Make sure you are using a video from YouTube's site. Bing videos won't work.
Step 2: When ready to post, click the youtube icon at the top right of the dialog box (to the right of Font colour [obviously a French based doo-hickey])...you should see this pop up:
Step 3: highlight the Youtube web address from your video and click Ctrl + C
Step 4: put the curser inbetween the two brackets and click Ctrl V

Voila!

Of course, you already know this since you've posted other videos, so I am going to blame it on grizza...whatever it is.

This doesn't seem like a lot of people to sign up when they were saying millions are uninsured

Report: Only 51K Signed Up For Obamacare During First Week, CBO Says 7 Million Are Needed By March To Keep Program From Financial Collapse…
Via Daily Mail:

Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the first week the Healthcare.gov website was online, according to two sources inside the Department of Health and Human Services who gave MailOnline an exclusive look at the earliest enrollment numbers.

The career civil servants, who process data inside the agency, confirmed independently that just 6,200 Americans applied for health insurance through the problem-plagued website on October 1, the day it first opened to the public.

Neither HHS nor the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services would comment on the record about the numbers. Enroll America, the president’s organization of health care ‘navigators’ who are charged with helping Americans sign up, didn’t reply to a request for information about its level of success so far.

The White House also did not respond to emails seeking comment.

But several administration officials have claimed this month that they didn’t have access to the kinds of raw figures MailOnline obtained from the people who work for them. And the anemic totals suggest a far lower level of interest in coverage through the Affordable Care Act than the Obama administration has
hoped to see.

The open enrollment period for Obamacare coverage is slated to last for six months. If the first week’s total were an indication of how many Americans will sign up during that time through the Obama administration’s website, its final tally would reach a paltry 1.32 million.

Healthcare.gov provides enrollment services for Americans in 36 states; the remaining 14 states and the District of Columbia, which operate enrollment programs in their own exchanges, represent 33.7 per cent of the U.S. population, according to census projections.

If the state-run exchanges were to have a similar response rate for six months, the national enrollment total would be approximately 2 million.

That number is less than 29 per cent of the 7 million the Obama administration would need, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, in order to balance the new health insurance system’s books and keep it from financial collapse.
