Cluck- what's this mean? Brock calling plays?
Brock has been adamant that he wants to establish the run...at all costs. That is the identity that Brock has publicly, and repeatedly, said his team would have. Stop the run, establish the run...that is the team Brock wants...not next year. This year. It is Brock's mantra and I have been shocked to hear it said so many times considering that he went out and got Devine to run his offense. :suspicious:

People say our last OC was handcuffed by the coach, but no one has yet suggested the same thing about this year's team. Why? A newly hired OC would not defy a newly hired coach. Do you seriously think UNH would have been running the ball 3 scores down against Maine? WTF are we doing running the ball on first down so often? 3rd and short...run...when we were already planning on running it again on fourth down. It's almost KC ball again.

Something is going on here...we certainly aren't #ATTACKing anyone the way were led to believe.

True, a homer I may be, but other than a close win against a charged up albany team, the hens have drilled the teams they were supposed to drill. Maybe the hens were disinterested against an inferior team, who knows. But they found a way to dig deep and pull out a game that easily could have gone the other way. I hope the coaches can now get the players attention and start playing to their potential. I can only complement maine, they may wind up being the best team in the CAA by the end of the season, we shall see. And no, I don't believe that we are better than my top three teams right now, not that big a homer, but talent wise I think we can be if we get our collective heads out of our asses and start playing delaware football. as for the tribe, the close loss to west virginia looked good at first, until a decent but not great maryland team drilled the mountineers 37-0. Hanging on for dear life against a bad ivy league team does'nt say much to me, as opposed to a delaware win against a bad CAA team. Thats just the way I see it, you know as well as I do, opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one. I just don't think the tribe is very good this year. I guess we will find out whose 5-2 is better in a few weeks on the field in newark, won't we.

Agreed. I tend to go with real results and trends rather than where people "think" they should be........or those that are still placing a team based on pre-season hype ( )......pssst, it ain't pre-season anymore! ;)

Anyway.......this will all settle out over the next few weeks. As far as the Maine/Nova/Towson race for the autobid goes........everyone needs to take care of business this week........then Maine vs. Nova will likely decide the title....especially if Nova wins considering that they would be undefeated in the CAA with wins over Maine AND Towson. I'll be VERY nervous if Maine doesn't take care of business at home this weekend vs. W&M. That would create a "must-win" at Nova IMO. Regardless.......this is a very exciting 3-way race this season that doesn't include the "usual suspects (Delaware, JMU, Richmond).

Really? Why do you have JMU above Delaware and Albany above Rhode Island then? Real results were the opposite of that.

8- UR - Spiders, with no realistic chance at playoffs, start mailing in games
9- Stony Brook - trying to salvage .500 season
10- URI - 2-10 looks like a real possibility
11- Albany - close, bur no cigar...might not get another win in 2013
This is just so bad I had to answer to it...lol.
Let's break this ranking down.
1. Towson - Nova could go here, but I won't argue with this. Towson is a very talented team. However, they showed terrible discipline the last 3-4 games. I believe they're also the most penalized team in the CAA. If, and only if they get their shit together, they have a shot at an FCS Championship.
2. Maine - Unproven at this point, so Nova should be here. I would imagine you think Maine could run the table because they wrecked Delaware, but they didn't wreck UD because they're that good, UD is just bad.
3. Delaware - How could anyone put Delaware as #3 in the CAA? It doesn't get any more bias than this. Delaware just beat Albany (Who is awful this year) by -three- points. Just three. They are lucky if they finish 3-4 in the CAA. Their highlight win is against James Madison -AT- Delaware. Compared to Nova's highlight win against Towson -AT- Towson, you must have brain damage to rank UD higher.
4. James Madison - Over-rated here, and in the polls. They lost to Delaware and barely beat Richmond.
5. Villanova - Undefeated in the CAA. Only two losses are to an FBS opponent and a very close game against Fordham, who appears to be pretty strong this year. Signature win against Towson. Yes, Towson turned the ball over quite a bit, but those are forced turnovers. If you had watched the game, (I'll assume you didn't.) Nova played solid football, and ended up with more points. Nova took advantage of Towson's lack of discipline, give them credit where it is due. Ranking them below JMU, UD, and Maine just makes no sense, but then again, you're a Delaware fan. Looking forward to the Battle of the Blue this year.
6. W&M - I believe W&M to be under-rated, but they just haven't proven themselves yet. Don't underestimate them, they could knock out Maine next week.

Do you know what a trend is???? Here's an example:

Sept. 28 - Delaware 29 JMU 22
Oct. 5 - Maine 62 Delaware 28
Oct. 12 - Delaware 33 Albany 30

Like I said.......'nough said.

Here's another trend:

2005 - L
2008 - L
2009 - W
2010 - W
2011 - L
2012 - L
2013 - L

Yes.......mighty UD is 2-5 in their last 7 and has lost 3 straight to lil 'ole Maine.

Barely my a**. Were up 38-16 with 11 min left in the 4th. And need I remind you that Maine also beat UR by only 7 (along with NC State by only 2). Mark my words, UR will upset one of the 3 remaining top 6 that they play (UD, TU, W&M).

Holy smokes, nova gets a gift win from an undisciplined Towson team and suddenly their two or three bandwagon fans crawl out of their basements and start posting big boy talk on a message board!

Anyone that counts Towson as signature win is really in the pits. Towson simply doesn't have a signature win in the history of their program (we do thank them for producing andy, but that's another story) and they don't know how to win big games. And a loss to a "pretty strong" (not even a firm strong...just "pretty strong") Fordham team...what is it with you guys...you can't beat Patriot teams anymore. PATRIOT TEAMS! That's clown football right there.

Speaking of clown football, nova turns over the ball at a rate far faster than anyone can give away their tickets for a game at their high school stadium. Even your own team is embarrassed to play at that facility, so they schedule games at glorious Chester by the river. Is that some type of community outreach program for you guys?

The call from the Big East has been disconnected and nova will go down in flames once again, even with their BCS recruits. Talley and the nova priests, the ones that aren't drinking and running down opposing players and fans, will be saying a couple Our Fathers as penance for lying to their recruits.

Bottom line...nova has one player. That's it. He'll get banged up and be ineffective by the end of the season and nova will collapse.

Maine was at Richmond, and JMU was home. Like I stated before, Maine is unproven right now. I don't think Maine is all that great either, but we will see next week. JMU has a lot to prove. The loss to Delaware really hurts them right now, and the close win against Richmond doesn't impress. These next two weeks against W&M and Nova will show how good they really are. It's early in the season, but I still think they're over-rated. (Personally I think W&M is the dark horse of the CAA right now. Not JMU, UD, or Richmond.)

Oh boy, now you're claiming Towson is not a signature win? As far as "clown football" is considered, you must run the circus with this crap. Beating a Top10 team isn't a signature win? Please tell me what win Delaware has that can be called signature, and make you rank them above Nova? (Hint: There are none.) If Delaware beat Towson in the same fashion Nova did, you would be praising the almighty UD and their huge signature win. I can't wait until Terrance West tears Delaware apart. (He will)

Might I remind you that Fordham is also a Top 10 team. Yeah, Nova played sloppy that game, but we still only lost by 3. After making adjustments, we have played way better. Delaware has turned the ball over more times than Nova since then.

I don't have to respond to the rest of your drivel, because it has nothing to do with what happens on the field. (I don't blame you for avoiding that. It's not like UD does anything impressive on the field anyway.)

Just in case you didn't know, here's the GPI for the CAA this week. Note how Delaware is at the bottom.

Here's one tip on how to make your point more effective: Never ever ever reference the GPI. It's been a running joke for quite some time. You were doing quite well without it. :thumb:

Anyone want to make a side bet that the Fordham Fluffers make the final 8?

Just in case you didn't know, here's the GPI for the CAA this week. Note how Delaware is at the bottom.

2. Colonial Athletic Association (32.47)
3. Towson (5.14)
5. Villanova (7.29)
12. Maine (12.43)
20. William & Mary (21.14)
27. Stony Brook (26.86)
32. James Madison (30.14)
38. New Hampshire (33.57)
41. Richmond (36.43)
43. Delaware (39.14)
78. Rhode Island (63.57)
104. Albany (81.43)
GPI?

Bottom? Pssst...the bottom is usually, well, you know, on the bottom. You might want to gain some comprehension of the English language before you post again. :thumb:

GPI...thanks for the chuckles! :kisswink:
No thanks. I understand English rather well. You know where Delaware is on that list, and it's pretty close to the bottom. I didn't know GPI had such a negative stigma here, but I guess it's okay to ignore the rest of the points I made by only whining I referenced GPI and used the word "bottom" to refer to the bottom portion of the index. But again, you go on attacking something completely unrelated to the points provided.

However, for the record I wouldn't bet Fordham makes it to the final eight. It is hard to believe that Fordham is in the Top 10 at this point, but as of now they have won when they were supposed to and the polls recognize that.

Thanks for the welcome everyone else! :thumb:

You just said that you find it hard to believe Fordham is in the top 10, and then followed that by saying they won when they were supposed to.

Similarly, a gift win from Towson doesn't make nova good.

Here's one tip on how to make your point more effective: Never ever ever reference the GPI. It's been a running joke for quite some time. You were doing quite well without it. :thumb:
Not concerned about KC, he'll do well wherever he goes.

Definitely concerned about Brock...so far he's done nothing that has earned him the position given to him by a friend.

Hopefully, he'll get out of the way of his own stubborn thinking, open up the offense, and hire a new DC.

We're making the playoffs if the staff has any guts.
