Moron buys obstructed Yankees Stadium tix for $1200

Post by Mountaineer »

Christ, I sure as hell wouldn't admit to spending that much. Especially when they're crap seats.

That is how a visibly upset Adrian Rea, a Yankee fan from Binghamton, N.Y., wound up spending $1,200 for four tickets in Section 201. Rea had no idea that he would not be able to see right field.

And how do the Yankees spend a gazillion dollars on a new ballpark and let that happen? Obstructed seats in a brand new stadium? Really?

that is really bad, that is not just a seat blocked by a pole or an overhanging or something small, that is a large amount of seats in that section blocked.

I don't think its the Yankee's fault. They had extra room for seats. The more important feature in the outfield is the cafe/bar in dead center. That's the wall you see. They had extra space for bleacher seats so they put them in because they knew schmucks like this would buy them.

The seats are normally $5. Why in the world would you pay 240 times the face value of a ticket to a sporting event? And even worse - why would you spend $1200 for a ticket and not check the seating chart? I spent $60 for yankee tickets and I checked the seating chart.

I should amend then to say: Stupid Freaking Yankee fans.

I do hope the yankees, when they sell these tix, disclose they are obstructed

Looks like they were trying to set up something like the Budweiser Deck at Turner field... except they put theirs in center field... close to the fence... hindering views of left and right field if you happen to be sitting on either side... I think Miller Park and a bunch of other stadiums have these sportbars/party areas, but none of them obscure the view of the field for other patrons. Great engineering job, all I heard was praise for how this stadium is much better than the old Yankee stadium (which doesn't really mean you need to do that much)... but now seeing this..

Personally, I love these areas of the stadium... you can buy the cheapest ticket ($1 at Turner field) and then get admission to these sports bar decks instead of your nosebleed seats... These decks are practically on the lower level and not far from the field. You can find me there during Phils v Bravos series.

That's why I don't sit in the outfield.

If you go to the 3d seat selector (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/nyy/ball ... lector.jsp) and pick this section and move to the back row (left hand side their is a choice of front, middle or back), you can see that the seats are obstructured. The view is the exact same view of the picture taken.

What is he complaining about, the Yankees lost 10-2. He should be happy that he only had to watch 2/3 of it.

Bad seats and a dumb fan. Know what you are dropping that much money on. Not worth unobstructed outfield seats anyway, regardless if its the first game.

Damn! Where was this sucker when we were selling our opening-day tickets?

We got $300 per seat for our perfectly-fine unobstructed view in Section 209. :(
