Its because we care about oil and money. Plus they were "trained" in Afghanistan. Afghanistan is "easy" to beat and had nothing to offer the US as far as oil. Thats why these wars are bullshit. We pick "easy" targets to provide closure to the US citizens.
The same argument could be made for fighting in Iraq. We are told we are liberating the Iraqi people from an evil dictator yet there is a more dangerous one in Darfur we are ignoring. No oil.
