I'm not sure if we have any 100% libertarians on here. Most recognize the need for some form of government but disagree over the services that the government should actually provide. The liberal idea that the government should help out those in need is not a bad one but neither is the more libertarian position that a person needs to be responsible for themselves and work to get out of whatever hole they are in; the decision to help should be voluntary and is best done through private charitable organizations.

Now feel free to continue to ridicule the people who look like real yahoos in the crowds. People who drink either color of kool-aid (red or blue) and follow blindly without thinking should be ridiculed.

fyi, my post wasn't directed only at you. I meant to say "...I hope people really don't believe that Somalia has a free market."
i would agree... to an extent while I would be labeled a socialist around these parts... fact is, I'm an LBJ/FDR liberal (which isn't socialism... not even close). the trouble for me in these discussions about "drinking the kool-aid" is the fact that quite frankly I don't drink it... but I throughout my career have mixed quite a lot of it ;-)
I know you're not a socialist. You and I essentially want the same thing but have different ideas on how it should be accomplished.

I think it is fair game for you to poke fun at the redneck types for protesting high taxes, big government, etc. but it is just as fair for TMan or others to poke fun of welfare mama types for protesting that the government isn't doing enough to help her and the 3 kids (by different fathers) that she is raising. Poking fun at extreme stereotypes is a great American past-time.

Now get back to work doing a real job and try to get some of that blue kool-aid stain off of your fingers! :D

Don't put words in my mouth, UNI...I've NEVER criticized the so-called "welfare mama types" AT ANYTIME, FOR ANYTHING. This is one area where you are really off the mark. I won't go into my background in a public forum, but I have some "skeletons" in my closet in regards to my lifelong support of social and humanitarian ethics, programs and services, which I'm sure doesn't fit your "evil Conk" stereotype.

BTW, TTBF is a semi-professional liberal apologist, not a socialist.

Now, go back to your Libertarian practice of defending child molesters and murderers, rapists and other heinous criminals YOU believe our government has no right to imprison.

Wow this thread has spun wildly out of control!

I didn't intend to infer that you have actually criticized welfare mamas but to say that it would be fair game if you or anyone else did. What I posted could be misinterpreted and I should have typed it differently. My apologies TMan.

Couldn't get over 7,000 people anywhere?

Compare that to the 2003 Iraq war protests. More people in a single city... than they had nation wide.

Better luck next time, teabaggers.

That is pathetic for all the hype and coverage. Anti-Prop 8 rallies nationwide drew more than that, with little coverage.

"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."

Although Catamount may be a little over the top, he is right.

Obama has done nothing but embarass this country, and the left wing media is making it look like he is doing the right thing.

Things Obama has done since taking office.

1. Used our money to bail out Banks and motor dealerships.
2. Called America an Arrogant country.
3. Went over to Europe and literally apologized for the way America is.
4. Blamed America for the Gang/Drug wars in Mexico, and why the border is so unprotected. (talk about fricken hypocrisy)
5. BOWED to the King of Saudi Arabia
6. Released secrets of the CIA
7. Come out and said that he is ashamed of America's History.
8. Closed down Guantanamo Bay, and now all those terrorists and thugs are in the jails of our cities.
9. Lowered funding for our Military.
10. Shook hands with the dictator of Venuzuela who hates our fricken guts.

Yeah this guy sounds like a real champ doesnt he?

Not to mention, according to the Left wing nutjobs on MSNBC and CNN. All those who went to the tea parties,and/or share the believes of smaller government, less taxes, and gun rights, are now all potential terrorists, and whinny, unpatriotic racists. And the last time protests against high taxes happened it was during guess who? Bill Clinton's presidency, Is Clinton Black? NO, so throw the racist comments out the door.

Now they are trying to set up a system that monitors how much energy a household uses. So they can charge that house extra for its extra energy useage. As long as we are paying for the Energy we use WHO THE @#$% CARES???? Global Warming is the biggest fricken hoax ever, Here in Utah the summer is just as hot as it always been, the winters are just as cold and snowy, Spring is just as rainy as always, and fall is just as windy as ever. GLobal Warming is just a bunch of Bull.

And they want to take our guns away from us, Did you know in California, you cant keep your ammo and your gun in the same place?????? what good is that going to be when somebody breaks into your house and threatens to kill you? Here in Utah where we have the most conservative gun laws in the USA, ( who most states even Texas are trying to follow) we can have a gun loaded with us at all times. Some one breaks into my house, Im going to blow thier fricken brains out. The only good thief is a dead one.

Also did you know that the 2 most liberal states in the nation New York and California, they both have the worst state economies? Utah has the best economy in the whole USA, why is that? probably because its run by Conservatives.

But in 4 years because the mojority of America who was stupid enough to vote for this man we will no longer be the United States of America. We will now be known as the SSA the Socialist States of America.

See here is my point, let me guess you watch MSNBC and CNN dont you? If you would watch something other than the left wing liberal biased MSNObama networks none of the stuff I said would have come as a surprise to you.

1. The point is ITS OUR MONEY
2. WE ARE ARROGANT???? How? Because we are a superpower? (not for much longer anyway) or is it because we do more for this world than anyone else?
3. If you would have watched Fox news instead of the usuall trash, you would already now that.
4. And how is he right about it being our fault that Mexico is a piece of @#$% country that it is? Mexico's government is corrupt, their country is bankrupt, but no thats our fault. Its our fault that there is no border patrol, but then again Obama voted against the fence didnt he?
5. No you dont bow to another leader it just shows how weak you really are, (or maybe he bowed because the Saudi king is really His king)
6. Our interogation secrets Hello knock knock anybody in there? Oh yeah you dont know that because you dont watch the real news.
7. He said it when he was talking about re-opening borders with Cuba. another bad Idea.
8. No its closed, or didnt your left wing media tell you?
9. Is it? then tell me why he stopped funding for the new F-22 Raptor?
10. So? Yeah lets go out and shake hands with a guy that just like China, North Korea, Russia, and Iran, hate our guts and not 2 weeks earlier called Obama an Idiot, not to mention the Venuzualen government is IMPORTING GUNS AND DRUGS INTO MEXICO, but no thats our fault to isnt it?

If you think Making the USA look like a terrible, at fault for everything, WEAK country is a good thing, then he is a "great president"

And no I am 100% right about California, it is the most liberal state in the Union along with NY, and you cant have your ammo and your gun in the same place, I know that because my dad took a concealed weapons class back in February and the guy teaching the lesson told everyone that. And you want to know more about how much of a fruitcake state California is? My mom and dad went to San Diego in March, and they got pulled over and asked if they had any fruits or veggis in the car, my dad said they had some Oranges in the fridge in the back, the officer then asked where he got them, he said the grocery store, then she comphiscated them. Yeah California your a great state, my dad was going to bing in citris bombs and attack one of your cities. California deserves whatever happens to them. So does New York.

Dude - I don't watch MSNBC or CNN. But you need to lay off Fox.

Your post is so laughable.

Do you know WHY your mommie and daddie's Oranges were confiscated? Has nothing to do with LIBERALISM. It has everything to do with plant Diseases - diseases that can be spread from Oranges, brought in from out of state, that can cause BILLIONS of dollars worth of damage to the citrus crops in California.

Guns and ammo in CA must be TRANSPORTED in different boxes, etc. Nothing in the home. Ever think that maybe your gun instructor is wrong? Or only knows bits and pieces? Sounds like it.

Plenty of Global Warming evidence. But you have already closed your mind to anything but what Rush tells you.

Why should I lay off Fox? When they are the only ones who actually tell the truth, why do you think their ratings are a heck of alot better than the lefties media?

My post is laughable? Have you read any of the previous posts that your liby buddies put on?

Yeah Im sure my dad's 5 oranges after he eats them are going to cause so much damage to the crops of California.

No in California even in the home, your ammo and your guns must be stored apart from each other.

You say there is plenty of GW evidence, but where? let me guess, its up at the north pole where some English scientists went to go measure the thickness of the Ice but couldnt complete thier mission, because they got stranded in a blizzard. yeah there is plenty of proof.

And why wouldnt i listen to what Rush or Hannity or Beck have to say, they have more common sense than just about anybody else in the media right now.

And I no Im not.

Ryan - A SINGLE ORANGE can wipe out an entire citrus grove, if that orange is infected with fungus (which could be on the peel.

Fox is full of shit - so biased that it has lost any credibility. Open your eyes, man.

Show me the law in CA, and I will acknowledge you are correct. I have not found a single thing to indicate that.

If you think Rush, or Hannity, or Beck have common sense, then you are sorely misguided.

FOX IS? have you ever watched MSNBC or CNN? both those programs are losing credibility because of how far left and wacko they are, they lose more and more rating every year, Glen Beck's 1 hour show at 5 gets more ratings than the whole of MSNBC. I need to open my eyes? maybe you should open yours.

Yes Rush, Hannity and Beck have common sense. If you actually listened to them once and a while, you would have figured that out already.

Ryan,
I haven't made any "claims" thus the onus is not on me to prove anything...
I have simply questioned your claims.

I read both sides of the global climate issues fairly regularly...
There is much "spin" and intended confusion on both sides - both sides have a lot to gain by converting and building a legion of disciples... One thing we can be certain of... the world climate is changing (for better or worse I don't know and have no opinion)

However: Dude..
I suggest you take some debate classes and some philosophy in college, you'll love it...(seriously)
if you like debating and have things you feel strongly about this will strengthen your skills

Best regards...
