Any other team that plays in the same conference can be considered a rival. That said, I don't really consider Montana any more a rival than Portland State, MSU, etc. I do think there's been a pretty healthy "rivalry" the past 5-10 years or so between the two schools - primarily because of geography and due to the fact that the two programs are the most succesful in the Big Sky the past 20 years.

But anyway, I could really give a hoot whether Montana fans percieve Eastern as a "rival" or not. It's a silly discussion, and we've had much bigger fish to fry the past several years. Beating Montana isn't exactly what it used to be.

In 2010, (first game played on the red), the game was won on a last minute FG. Then the strip and scoop with the score by a DT.

2012, touchdown followed by an on-side kick recovery and another TD to win the game.

Both pretty dramatic victories, but it was mostly students doing that anyway. I saw that a lot of Griz fans were pissed off about fans storming our own home field, though.

To each their own, I suppose. I personally don't think there's anything wrong with it, and am glad we have fans that are actually passionate enough to do stuff like that. And to be fair, it's not just after a Montana win that it's happened...Villanova, NDSU, etc. etc.

It's called acting like you've been there before. Although I guess Ewoo wins over Montana are historically rare enough that maybe they do warrant such a display.

I rewatched it because it was a good/fun game to rewatch. Plus, I watch it live, then I watch it once to focus on the offense (and in particular the O-line) and once to focus mostly on the defense. It ain't the complicated, expandspanos.
