Dumbest thing I've seen this year was at the end of the 1st half.
EWU 3rd and goal on the 1, 12 seconds left, no timeouts. Had 3 things they could have done:
1. Trow a pass into the endzone. TD or kick chipshot 18 yd FG if incomplete.
2. Throw it away & kick chipshot 18 yd FG.
3. Run out of bounds, even if for a loss, because even a few yard, or 5-10 yard loss still leaves them with a chip shot FG

The ONE thing that EWU could ABSOLUTELY NOT do was get tackled short of the goal line in the field of play. So what does the EWU QB do? Get tackled inbounds on the 1 yard line, time runs out. Mindboggling

If the EWU coach did not tell the QB to do #1 through #3, and absolutely under no circumstances to get tackled short of the goal line in the field of play, then the QB is an IDIOT.

If the EWU coach failed to advise him like that, then the coach is an IDIOT.

So which one was the idiot here, the coach or the QB?

The qb is a young idiot. He is not clutch. EWU had total control of the game they just did not execute at the qb position many times. Vernon should not be the 2014 qb.
