15 yard penalty on BF for not appreciating Towson's advantages yesterday.

I don't think so. I think overall Towson was the more talented team overall. I think Adams is a difference maker that kept EWU in the game by continually avoiding the rush and making plays. I don't like him but I think that was the case. But this....... EWU more talented,
Except that we've had a tendency to shut down teams in the 2nd half all year.JohnStOnge wrote:I don't think so. I think overall Towson was the more talented team overall. And I think that if Towson had not had their starting QB go down they'd have won by at least two touchdowns. And I think that without EWU having an outstanding playmaker like Adams in the QB position and with Towson not having their own starting quarterback go down it would've been a complete Towson blowout.
Put it this way: Think about what it would've been like if instead of Towson playing without its starting quarterback for the second half it would've been EWU playing without theirs. I think you can see what I'm saying. To me it's very reasonable to believe that in that scenario Towson would've won going away. Pretty much a blowout.
With their starting QB in there most of the way Towson had 301 yards of offense in the first half. Him going down completely changed the game. There was no indication that EWU was going to slow down Towson's offense while he was in there and Towson had a 21 point lead when he went out. I'll grant you that EWU had a fumble inside the 10 yard line. But to me they had no shot as long as Towson's starting QB was in unless Towson just did something like go into a complete turnover frenzy meltdown.
So again, why is Bronco a douche for posting a gif of the game winning play IN THE GAME THREAD?EWURanger wrote:That's only if you consider it a cheap shot, which I don't. Oh, and please do elaborate on why Tripp "deserved" it, other than the fact that he's better than any LB to ever play at Ewoo.
Yeah, he's good, and I hear Edmonton is lovely this time of year.kalm wrote:Cough cough...JC SherittGrizalltheway wrote: So again, why is Bronco a douche for posting a gif of yhe game winning play IN THE GAME THREAD?![]()

When you hold the CFL single season record for tackles it's probably fine...but I'm pretty sure he winters in Spokandiego.Grizalltheway wrote:Yeah, he's good, and I hear Edmonton is lovely this time of year.kalm wrote:

The only reason I agree with that is that I suspect Towson's starting QB either won't play or won't be 100% whereas if EWU was playing NDSU they wouldn't have that kind of problem. If he's 100% I think Towson is clearly a better team than Eastern Washington is. I also think they match up better with NDSU because I think they're better overall on both lines of scrimmage even though EWU does have one really good player at defensive tackle. And I think being good on the line of scrimmage is very important when playing NDSU.Bronco wrote:I think EWU would have given the Bizon a better game
It appears that if you want to get under the Bizon posters skin mention the movie Fargo

If by chance Towson's QB is 100% I think Towson will give NDSU all it wants and may win. I'm hoping he is so we can have a good game. But I'm not optimistic about it.
I'm sure Tripp will be happy to send him a postcard from whichever NFL city he ends up in.kalm wrote:When you hold the CFL single season record for tackles it's probably fine...but I'm pretty sure he winters in Spokandiego.Grizalltheway wrote:

Hardly. Issues here come from people who assume Fargo is like that. I personally don't care.Bronco wrote:I think EWU would have given the Bizon a better game

EWU would have been a better matchup. They would have been the fastest or 2nd fastest team NDSU played all year and their scheme is totally different from most teams NDSU plays. Towson will have to out-NDSU. I think that's a bad proposition. Styles make fights.

The game was 60 minutes long. Take away 5 minutes or add 5 minutes and the outcome could be different.
What does that prove? That the two teams "played" fairly evenly, and it is difficult to determine which team is "better" from one contest.
Towson won with the scrambling of Frazier. He threw one great pass in the comeback over the middle that loosened the defense up for the scrambling. We have all seen how running QB's can have a huge impact on a game, especially if you don't specifically prepare for it.
I feel BF's pain when he bashes VA. The great Taylor Heinicke has made bad decisions at times. But it means they are human, and it is the reason that games are decided on the field rather than on paper.
Talk about butthurt.BlackFalkin wrote:What really bothers me about the lost yesterday is that Eastern was so much better than Towson.

Towson put up over 300 yards in the first half...and their starting QB was hurt. EWU got their stats simply because Towson was in an adjustment period...otherwise, Towson would have simply kept rolling, their D would have been rested, and EWU would have gone home with their tails between their legs. As it is, the only thing that happened was that EWU fans got a false impression that their team was somewhere in Towson's league.kalm wrote: Hey Clucky, when you're done you might want to go check the stats. The better team won yesterday and the CAA is strong just like the Big Sky and the MVFC. Let me know when that Towson jock gets heavy for ya.
So what was Towson's D doing while the O was "adjusting" and EWU rolled off 31 unanswered points? Taking a nap?Cluck U wrote:Towson put up over 300 yards in the first half...and their starting QB was hurt. Oh, and Towson's TO was a gift as their QB was simply distracted while looking for his next easy target, whereas Kupp was manhandled and the ball was taken. Big difference.
After Towson adjusted, they bulldozed EWU's weak D. Watch the replay...EWU's defense knows who the better team was, by far.
