losing to a team that's favored by 7 is choking? When did losing become the same as choking? The Eagles were just the better team.
The Cowboys had a chance to win the game on the last drive. All Orton needed to do was get them into FG range. He failed. Therefore, he choked away their chance to win the game and go to the playoffs. Typical Dallas Cowboys. :ohno:

The game last night was a lot closer than I had hoped but the bottom line - the Eagles went from worst to 1st. 4-12 last year to 10-6 this year, a 6-game improvement - the largest ever in franchise history!!

Bring on the Saints!
Ironically the fat man took the Chiefs from 2-14 to 11-5, a 9 game improvement. And would have been 10 if didn't rest 20 starters in last Sunday's meaningless (for the Chiefs) 27-24 OT loss @ San Diego...

I believe the Eagles have 3 NFL Championships. The Seahawks have none. And the Cowboys would love to be either team this year and still playing football.

Oh, I didn't realize you didn't know the NFL existed for several decades, and awarded titles, before they began calling them Super Bowls. My bad. Are you going to ask how many titles teams have won in either odd or even numbered years next? How about titles won when a Republican was in the Oval Office compared to the number with a Democrat? Parsing the number of titles is always "super" fun.

There is a big difference between pre Super Bowl titles and Super Bowl wins. If you don't see that you are just a homer or delusional. Most people consider only SB titles when talking about the most championships. I know you are an Eagles fan so want any reason to claim victories but the fact is the Eagles have been unable to win a title in the time that anyone cares about.

Tell me, other than there being more teams in the NFL, what is the big difference? An NFL title is an NFL title, hard to argue otherwise. Do the Super Bowls that were played when the NFL was smaller than 32 teams not count now because they were played in a smaller league? No doubt recent titles are always better than titles from long ago, but that doesn't mean that we start not counting previous titles. That would be like saying all I-AA titles are no longer valid once they changed the name from I-AA to FCS.

How about the merger of two leagues bringing us to today's NFL? There are expansion teams but that has happened in many major sports leagues. An expansion team is very different from a merger of multiple leagues.

Thanks to the poor play of Orton. Biggest choker ever. If Romo were in this would have been an easy Cowboys victory. :coffee:
When the Cowboys started their final drive. I was sorry that Romo wasn't playing. Thanks goodness that Orton learned well as Romo's back-up.

You're just picking an arbitrary point to support your argument. At least my opinion has the backing of the NFL itself, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and any other legitimate football source. The titles of the NFL go all the way back to 1920. Of course the Super Bowl constitutes the modern era of the NFL, but that doesn't mean there aren't other eras that are just as valid. It's not like the league didn't have mergers before - the AAFC merged with the NFL in the '50s and they still kept the NFL championships before that period. By your argument, assuming your argument is anything more than just your opinion of whatever you want to believe, a league like the NBA shouldn't recognize any titles prior to the merger of the NBA and ABA in the '70's. Of course, the Boston Celtics wouldn't agree with that. Like I said, I'll stick with the official record books rather than whatever record book you are making up.

Perhaps you are confused about what constitutes a Super Bowl victory. See, the team has to make it to the Super Bowl and then actually win. The Seahawks have never done that. They have played in exactly one Super Bowl and lost that by 11 points to the Steelers. The Eagles also have zero and the Cowboys have 5. :coffee:

The Seahawks were the better team that day, go look at the stats. The ONLY way they lose is with help from the refs. So in my mind (and multitudes of others), the Seahawks should have won that superbowl. And unlike most people, I don't care about championships before my time. So you can bring out any history you want, it's not going to change my mind that the Cowboys are chokers. :thumb:

Nah, I read the question just fine. I always just think it's odd for someone to basically ask "How many NFL titles have you won since 1966?", which is essentially the same question. It's not like football didn't exist for 4 decades before that arbitrary year.

 I find it odd that you think the merger of the AFL and the NFL and the subsequent championship games between the two is "arbitrary." The merger was essentially the starting point for the NFL as it is today. That's very clear, and not arbitrary. No one is discounting the 4 decades prior to the "Super Bowl era," don't be ridiculous. Of course, griping on CS about 3 championships all won before the Civil Rights act is quite hilarious.

Vidav clearly asked about Super Bowl wins. Don't get pissy because you failed to correctly read the question.

Maybe he should have asked how many titles have the Eagles won since JFK was assassinated. I mean, I'm 32 and my mom wasn't even born when the Eagles last won an NFL championship.

Nah, I read the question just fine. I always just think it's odd for someone to basically ask "How many NFL titles have you won since 1966?", which is essentially the same question. It's not like football didn't exist for 4 decades before that arbitrary year.
It doesn't happen often, but I have to disagree GF. Using the SB as a measuring stick is a good one IMO. It's more of a demarcation than just a year.

We'd all be OK with that once the Eagles win a mother*&%^ing Superbowl.
