Good to see the Oklahoma Stoopses croak the Bama Crimson Sabans last night. 45-31? What happened to that vaunted Bama defense?

Great to see. Of course, Saban is laughing all the way to the bank. I mean, he trolled Texas to get a raise at Bama and then gets his tide rolled in the very next game.Ivytalk wrote:Good to see the Oklahoma Stoopses croak the Bama Crimson Sabans last night. 45-31? I thought all year Alabama was the beneficiary of a very favorable schedule. Oklahoma exposed them for the frauds they are last night. Whatever draft stock McCarron had going into last night took a major hit.

Yup, they got torched whenever they played someone with a decent offense, and like BHBK said, bama's schedule this year was very favorable.tampajag wrote:every good offense they've faced they've given up points.

Saban is just 8-6 against LSU and Auburn....
And 0-5 against them when they finish the season with at least 9 wins.
He is a very good coach....but is very good with smoke screens

Well, the Bama defense technically gave up 38 points, as OK scored off off a McCarron fumble at the 8 yad line.Ivytalk wrote:Good to see the Oklahoma Stoopses croak the Bama Crimson Sabans last night. 45-31? What happened to that vaunted Bama defense?
Another McCarron pass was intercepted and ran back to the Bama 13, led to an OK TD. Put that TD on Bama's offense as well.
2 other Bama turnovers led to OK TDs, but they were non red zone & OK had to put together drives.

Re: Sugar Bowl
True, although I would say really good offense.tampajag wrote:every good offense they've faced they've given up points.
In their 10 games other than TX A&M, Auburn, & OK their defense gave up 60 points, an avg of 6 per game (don't see a single non offensive score in there).
In their 3 games against TX A&M, Auburn & OK they gave up their defense gave up 101 (42, 28, 31), an avg of about 34 per game.
Good defense, but certainly not great. Bama's defense has slipped this yr from the 3 NC teams, due to heavy losses to guys leaving for the NFL (including early) and injuries. All 3 of those teams they gave up a lot to ran a hurry up. Normally not a problem for the usual deep Alabama defense, but this season, esp late after the injuries, Alabama's defense wasn't its usual deep self.

I got sick and tired whenever they cut to shots of McCarron's milf mom and model girlfriend. After the 1st 2-3 times I hit the fast forward whenever they popped up....

Alabama's D was able to pad it's stats with the following games:
Chattanooga - 0 (FCS)
Arkansas - 0 (Horrid team)
Mississippi - 0 (probably the best game Alabama's D played
Georgia State - 3 (No explanation needed)
Colorado State - 6 (bad team)
Kentucky - 7 (really bad team)
Miss State - 7 (average team)
Tennessee - 10 (really bad team)
Va Tech - 10 (very average team that all good teams they played shut down - even Duke held them to 10)

Maybe. Maybe not. With 30 of 35 bowl games played, SEC is 5-2 in bowls so far, with 3 more teams to go. Mizzou/OK State Cotton Bowl tonight, Vandy-Houston tomorrow, and the NC game Monday night. If they win 2 of those 3, will have the best bowl record of the 9 conferences that play at least 4 bowl games, as PAC 12 is done and Big 12 only has 1 more game, Cotton Bowl tonight.BlueHen86 wrote:Looks like the SEC may have been overrated this year.

Here's how I would roughly put it, believing there are more really bad and horrendous teams than really good and great teams. Of the 125 I-A teams:dbackjon wrote:Alabama's D was able to pad it's stats with the following games:

11-30 Good
31-50 Above avg
51-70: Avg
