Hey folks, MLB is running a contest along with Susan B. Komen to honor those with inspirational stories related to breast cancer. The woman with the most votes per team gets to be an honorary bat girl before their favorite team's game on Mothers Day (if they are home) or another game (if they are away on Mother's Day).
A friend of mine (she is married to one of my fraternity brothers) is currently #10 on the list, but is trailing another Phillies fan, who is at #9 - she could use some love from the FCS community to get her over the top.
Here's how to vote:
1. Go to http://www.mlb.com/enterworkflow.do?flo ... _komen_bgc
2. Sort by votes
3. Look for Alice Hope (she's #10 as I write this)
4. Click on "More" next to the beginning of the story
5. Press "Vote for this story"
6. Come back here and let us know you voted, so this stays on the first page.
Thank you my friends, for your support.

Thanks everyone for your help. And a big thanks to BisonBabe for posting it on Bisonville too!
A bunch of folks have been voting 2x per day - once from the home computer and once from work. She seems to be losing ground though.
For those that haven't read her story, she has really taken this on and is trying to not only be better herself, but help to cure it overall. Here is her story (from the MLB site).
"I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 31 in May of 2006. I was 28 weeks pregnant with my son and I had a three year old daughter at home. The diagnosis rocked my world! 10 days after diagnosis I had a mastectomy. Three months later I delivered a healthy baby boy. I am proud to be a nearly three year breast cancer survivor! I go to bat against breast cancer by being an advocate for the National Breast Cancer Coalition. I will travel to DC in a few weeks to lobby Congress for additional research dollars for breast cancer. I am also a member of the Leadership Team of the Young Survival Coalition - Philadelphia, a help line volunteer for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, and a recovery volunteer for Pregnant with Cancer and the American Cancer Society. I would love to represent all Moms who are survivors and all of the Philadelphia based doctors who help care for me by being a bat girl for the Phillies on Mothers Day!."
