Marino, Sharpe out at CBS pregame

Marino leaves after 13 seasons with CBS, while Sharpe joined for the 2004 season, giving him a decade on the show.

CBS says recently retired star tight end Tony Gonzalez will join the network as an analyst for "The NFL Today" as well as other programming.

and actually talks about what is happening ON THE FIELD of play / not just random general information

But actual analytical data / Collinsworth is presently the only NFL announcer I'm aware of that does that

Gonzalez is only going to be part of the pregame/post-game/half time stuff I think. Doesn't Collinsworth do commentating on the game itself?

John Gruden does a good job of this. And he's pretty funny in his own nutball way.

An actual horse can speak more clearly than Sharpe. I had no problem with Marino. But CBS shoulda let Phil Simms go, that frickin' douchesucker.

ESPN is WAY ahead when it comes to pre and post-game shows. NFLN and NBC are decent. CBS and Fox are simply clown football (analysis). Terry Bradshaw??????
