If any male racer went as many races as Danica has, without a win already under his belt, he'd be dropped from his car and unlikely to find a ride ever again.
Well. I hate to bring counterpoint, but since I've been a diehard NASCAR fan for almost 40 years...

Kyle Petty
Came from a racing family...crashed out less...and probably had a better average finish.
Also, was he talked about 24/7 by the media covering NASCAR the way Danica is?

Face it, she's involved in a lot of crashes. Some say it's bad luck, but I think she keeps getting herself into these situations 'cause she's always stuck in the pack...because she's not very good. If she can consistently get herself to the front...and stay there...she probably wouldn't bow out so much.

Not even close. He got some media attention his rookie season and that was it.
Don't get me wrong. I like the guy. But he did race seven seasons before finally getting a win in his eighth. He stayed in the sport because his dad owned the team. Richard was not going to kick his own son out of the family ride.

That's exactly it.
Let's say George Everybody gets into racing. He has 1 win in 115 races what kind of media/advertising is he going to get?
Lets then say he moves into NASCAR, has an average finish of roughly 20 and DNFs roughly 20% of the time through his first roughly 100 races with zero wins. How much longer is he going to stick around?
You may want to explain that to those here who aren't huge NASCAR buffs like us...so they get it...because we both clearly get it and find out funny....the others don't....I do...clearly....for the others...not me...

No doubt. Way too many. Special schemes for the D500. Jr and Jimmy Johnson, for example, both run darker cars at regular races.
I was watching something else but am rewatching the final 16 laps...seems like over half the field was white it a lighter silver.
I'm trying to think of puerile I remember driving white cars normally and I can't think of mire than a handful. I know Elliot Saddler drive a white and red car a couple years ago, Danica....and...that's all I got
