Not surprised at the Hornet no-show tonight. And as feared everything that could go wrong did in the other games. The PSU win hurts us the most, although I think we have the tie breaker over EWU if they lose and we win this weekend. I think that is our only shot at a berth.

If you win & EWU loses, you're in no matter what. Also, if you win and at least two of the three 10-9 teams lose, you're in. You can also win the tiebreaker with PSU for 7th. if NAU beats Montana.
Obviously the Sac/MSU loser is out, but it appears the Hornets have a better chance of making it if they win than MSU does if they win.
ISU 69-77 EWU; In a must-win game, the Bengals shoot 34% from the field and 19% from the arc
WEB 59-66 PSU; The coronated Wildcats make just 5 field goals in the first half UMT 70-55 SAC; Sac was 10-2 at home, but they allowed the Griz to close the first half on a 35-12 run
UND 71-77 SUU; The No-Nicks are outshot 51%-36% by one of the worst shooting teams in the nation
MSU 48-61 NAU; A 38-19 rebounding disadvantage shows MSU isn't putting forth a berth-clinching effort
Women
EWU 62-86 ISU; The Bengals shoot 79% in the second half
UND 53-73 SUU; Suutah still won't host, but they did outshoot the (co?)-champs 50%-21% PSU 62-60 WEB; Wildcats lose at the last second despite winning turnovers 26-13
SAC 76-87 UMT; Sac sets a new NCAA single-season record for treys (FGCU, 2011-12), but they still lose
NAU 85-99 MSU; Amanda Frost keeps channeling Amy Patton—tons of points, but no Big Sky Tournament
Tonight's results clinched tourney berths for Montana & NAU, while Idaho State was eliminated. The loser of the Sac/MSU game will obviously be out, as well, but the winner needs some help. Also of interest is that Montana now has the best overall record in the league, and they have a good shot of sharing the regular-season title—this greatly increases the chance that Kareem Jamar will at least share the MVP award. After tiebreakers: UM can finish either 2nd. or 4th., but they can't finish 3rd. oddly enough.
The North Dakota women got smothered tonight, but they still clinched hosting rights. It looks like we'll have a shared regular-season title here, too (has that ever happened for both genders in the same year?). Weber also clinched last place for the third-straight year, and clinched at least a share of last for the fifth time in the last six years. The tournament field is now set (ISU & MSU clinched, while NoCo & NAU were eliminated), but there's still a little bit of seed jockeying left. Saturday looks relatively boring compared to the men's side.
Admit it. It scares you JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUST a little that the Griz are starting to find their stride....
bump
Weber on a slide going into the playoffs ruh-roh.
"What I'm saying is: You might have taken care of your wolf problem, but everyone around town is going to think of you as the crazy son of a bitch who bought land mines to get rid of wolves."
Weber losers of 4 of their last 6. Griz winners of 9 of their last 11.
My "out on a very strong limb" projection: Griz win the tourney.
Winning the BSC tourney down in Weber will make all of the bitching and moaning so worth it this year. Weber might just fold up shop.

The flip-side of the coin is the Griz get the 2 seed, MSU sneaks in to the tourney, and then MSU beats the Griz to embarrass them..but more importantly MSU fans are MAD because Huse gets a 5 year extension for winning a BSC game and beating UM in the tourney.

Mvemjsunpx, I was wondering if there was enough internets out there to figure out what/how the BSC tie breakers are.
"What I'm saying is: You might have taken care of your wolf problem, but everyone around town is going to think of you as the crazy son of a bitch who bought land mines to get rid of wolves."
What is the betting at for MSU/SAC making the playoffs?

From earlier in this thread…
Mvemjsunpx wrote:1. Head-to-head record (for all teams tied together)
2. Record against each conference opponent starting at the top. Other ties are broken first if necessary to determine common opponent order.
3. RPI
4. Coin Flip (won't happen because the chance of RPI being tied is basically zero)
If a team (or multiple teams) is eliminated by one tiebreaker in a multi-way tie, then the procedure starts over for all remaining tied teams.
None of the applicable tiebreakers for this season will need to go past common opponents.

I would favor Sac to win since they're at home and MSU isn't exactly on fire. Sac also has a better chance of getting in if they win than MSU does if they win.
Sac mostly needs Weber to actually show up in Cheney tomorrow, since I don't see PSU losing to now-lame-duck ISU. That also means the Bobcats' chances are near zilch since they absolutely need PSU to lose.
Afternoon games now final. This should be a little easier to read.
Weber's win in Cheney was good for Sac, and not so good for MSU. The SUU/UNC game will end before the MSU/SAC game tips off—if NoCo wins, the Bobcats will be eliminated before they even take the court. This result also clinched a tourney berth for PSU.

Not to put Venus through the mental wringer again, but what are the girls' scenarios?
SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.
Wait a minute...I guess I haven't been paying attention here. (So what else is new?)
The Conference Tournament only takes SEVEN teams?!? Wouldn't 8 be easier, either from a straight 1-vs.-8, etc., bracket or a bracket with byes?

NoCo's lopsided win over Suutah today officially eliminated the Bobcats from postseason contention more than an hour before their tipoff in Sacramento. MSU is now playing for EWU by proxy against Sac. Whichever team makes it will play NoDak.
The ISU/PSU game just decides who gets the #5-seed (playing UM) and who gets the #6-seed (playing NAU) between PSU and NoCo.
The now-certainty of our Lady Hornets moving on is counterbalanced by a sense of freak-out over the uncertainty of the guys getting in....

Maybe not so uncertain now. MSU is playing how you'd expect a demoralized lame duck to play, or how you'd expect someone who really hates Eastern Washington to play.
