If Tesla is allowed to succeed with direct sales, big oil will then attempt to "influence" those who sell parts and materials to Tesla to no longer provide said goods. No parts to make cars = no fuel efficient cars to sell = happy big oil .AZGrizFan wrote:I believe big oil is behind this.

Sounds eerily similar to our "health care system", yet so few blame the government for it.VictorG wrote:What's wrong with direct auto sales...Sounds like the auto industry lining political pockets...AGAIN!!

We absolutely should blame the government. In the most recent example that would be the Chris Christie government…the guy that Wall Street wanted to be the Republican nominee…on account of he's for the "free market" just like Wall Street is!Baldy wrote:Sounds eerily similar to our "health care system", yet so few blame the government for it.VictorG wrote:What's wrong with direct auto sales...Sounds like the auto industry lining political pockets...AGAIN!!

And yes, donk administrations that passed similar rules to benefit campaign donors should be equally lambasted.
Conks…hating the free market as much as donks.

Here's a color-coded map.
Interesting that there's a lot of educated, forward-thinking, environmentally-conscious, diversity-tolerant blue states that have banned sales altogether.
Big Oil certainly doesn't like it, but I can bet you follow the money you will find some automotive workers unions involved, too.

I admire the sarcasm, but you know as well as I that isn't the free market at work.kalm wrote:We absolutely should blame the government. South Carolina just added a recharging station about a mile from I-95.
AS of 2012

The state has 106 locations for its 4.6 million residents, he said. (That works out to 1 station per 45,500 people).
