It's already impossible for an unknown, non-career politician to get elected to the presidency. If you tell me that Obama was an unknown, non-career politician, you're foolish and naive. Obama was certainly not unknown to the right people and he has been politicking virtually his entire life.Skjellyfetti wrote:This would just exacerbate one of the current problems, imo.VictorG wrote: 3) Restrict campaign time limit. Point missed, as usual. Donks in solidly red states are just as disenfranchised as conks in solidly blue states. I wonder, if every vote actually DID count, what our voter turnout would be.houndawg wrote:Maybe not my first choice, but better than having the likes of wack job central (Arizona, Texas, Utah, Montana..) doing the selecting.AZGrizFan wrote:

Do you think people would feel more empowered if their one vote could be the difference between 4 more years and a new president?AZGrizFan wrote:Point missed, as usual. I have no idea. I just know that lots of people don't vote because they feel their vote is wasted in their particular state.Ibanez wrote:Do you think people would feel more empowered if their one vote could be the difference between 4 more years and a new president?AZGrizFan wrote:

Hell, I feel that way but I don't vote strictly R or D. I can appreciate the concern and am always in favor of correcting our process. What was good in 1787 might not necessarily be relevant today, that's understandable.AZGrizFan wrote:I have no idea. Term Limits;
Making Congress, Court System, and Administration have to live by all laws;
Make Administration have to enforce all laws;
Cutting out pension credits for Congress, Administration & Court System in any year with a Federal deficit unless overridden by a public referendum;
Expanding the time and ease of voting, but restricting voting to one for per qualified, identified citizen;
Life time ban on lobbying on former officials, Congressmen and Judges;
Line item veto;
Eliminate deductions for campaign contributions;
Eliminate all preferences and enforce 14th Amendment.
