Pretty sad and uninformed, I say.
We hold our American leaders to unattainable standards of perfection, demonize our own leaders and history, and turn a blind eye to true evil and ignore real dangers to peace, liberty and prosperity.
Bush sucked, but he was not the enemy of the world.

Plenty of Iraqis mustered the courage to oppose Saddam. Like my ex-pat neighbor's brothers, and thousands of "Marsh Arabs," Shias and Kurds, they didn't survive the experience. But you MUST give them credit for trying, just as you MUST give credit to the millions of Iraqis who were bold enough to stick their finger in a bottle of indelible ink and vote.
Rumsfeld turned out to be a poor wartime SecDef. However, even though the military may be weaker because of resources gobbled up by the war, it is not because of his transformational initiatives! Our military today have by far the finest and most capable special forces in the history of the world, and the most combat efficient. If General Shinseki's "old army" way of thinking had prevailed, we would still be planning force structure and organizing resources too meet a Soviet invasion in the Fulda Gap. Whatever failures we may have experienced in Iraq have been political, not military.
I don't like the current world situation, but at least GW tried to be proactive. He was way over his head politically, and in many aspects, he failed. BUT hating on old George without even acknowledging the grave threats to OUR liberty and prosperity and offering alternative solutions is grossly irresponsible.

Special Forces are just a tool for tactical work, and one 15 cent bullet kills them just as dead as anybody else. You need to focus on the bigger strategic picture).

Sorry, amigo, dubya's eight years of miserable failure as President earned him every bit of hate directed his way. "Grossly irresponsible" my ass. Even a pompous blowhard like yourself knows that the Bush administration seized an opportunity to do something they had wanted to do from before they were elected, and that they completely ignored the rest of the planet's advice, bleating about "old Europe" and "go it alone". Oh, yeah, the whole thing was going to be paid for by the Iraqi oil that has yet to be pumped six years later. What a half-wit.
