Nothing says "stupid" more than wearing a hat crooked, and this is proof positive.

Since he was basically caught 10 days ago by TV cameras & dismissed the foreign substance as "dirt", it was unbelievably stupid to do it again last night versus the same team. You just knew they were going to ask the umps to check at some point in time during the game - he should get suspended extra time just for stupidity.

I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere in the media, but when you are on the road, used baseballs (a pitch in the dirt for example) are thrown to the home team's dugout. If there is suspicion of a foreign substance being used, it is easy for the home team to inspect the baseball. Again, the stupididity of Pinheada.

TV caught it again last night even before Farrell came out. Aaron Boone, who was doing the game said something. The reactions of Cashman, Girardi, Jeter, and Pineda himself were more than telling. :coffee: :coffee:

So because others do it, it should be acceptable?

How about, DON'T break the rules? Don't be a scumbag cheater. If you think pitchers should be able to use whatever they want, change the rule.

I'm 100% sure the Patriots weren't the only ones "spying" in the NFL but they were dumb enough to get caught.

Pineda last night took brazen ignorance to an all new level.

Just came down...as expected he got 10 games (2 starts).

I kinda get the problem with Brett, but I'm confused about this one. Has anyone established whether or not the pine tar was on his neck for the purpose of helping his grip on the ball (he'd be REALLY stupid if he thought it would help him throw a spitter)?

He'd have a good alibi if he were in the National League: the pine tar could have transferred from his bat to his neck in the on deck circle. He might also have that excuse if he were playing for Tampa. Joe Maddon once screwed up his lineup card so royally that he had his pitcher batting third...against another American League team. (And wouldn't you know, the dude got a hit? ROFL.)
