Did hometown refs benefit Bulls?

Post by UNHWildCats »

I'm only posting this because some of our distinguished members tried claiming Sunday that the refs were trying to guarantee a Celtics win.....

An NBA source pointed out before the game that two of the referees were Chicago natives (Marc Davis and Dan Crawford). Kennedy also was involved in an incident with Rivers during the Bulls' St. Patrick's Day win in which both were fined by the league for jawing. The source also said that after the game family members of both referees departed wearing Bulls gear.

I'm not a big NBA fan, mainly b/c of the type of play, but another things that bothers me is how the refs are told to call the game. The refs are basically told to swallow their whistles the ast few minutes of each game. To me a foul is a foul, no matter what the clock says, and a flagrant is definitely the same regardless of the clock. Apparently thats not the case though.
