Cowboys Draft
Overall, I think I'd give this draft a B+, pending the regular season. We were in desperate need of a massive overhaul on defense, and we got that with three LBers (two outside), two DBs (a SS and a defensive halfback), and two DL (one DE and one DT). We DID get some offensive help (one OL, a HUGE need) and a WR. I expect that we'll get a RB and a QB in free agency. Romo has GOT to go, and I'm not thrilled with Orton, either.
If I could make one change, I would have gladly dropped the WR in favor of Vernon Adams, but overall, this seems to be a good draft in that it actually addressed need as opposed to going gangbusters for big names who might not fit.

Never mind. I could have sworn Adams was a senior. (Maybe that was just Big Sky wishful thinking.) He's apparently just going into his junior year.

Re: Cowboys Draft
You realize free agency started in March, right? I doubt Dallas is going to sign much of anyone else (we signed Hanie and Weeden as QB's too).SuperHornet wrote:Overall, I think I'd give this draft a B+, pending the regular season. And Romo doesn't have to go. He has the most 4th QTR comebacks since 2011 and has a career passer rating of 93.1 in the final two minutes of a game (best of all active quarterbacks).
Romo in final 4 weeks (2009-2013):
-Completion %: 65.3 (NFL Rank: 5th)
-TD-INT ratio: 27-7 (NFL Rank: 3rd)
-YPA: 8 (NFL Rank 3rd)
-Rating: 104.3 (NFL Rank: 3rd)
Yes, he makes some bad decisions and some INT's are extremely ill-timed. But he is not the problem with this team. It's the efficiency of which we run the ball (and play timing) and the piss-poor defensive play. Even if Romo makes some bad mistakes at the end of a game, it won't matter as much if the D has been doing their job.

I would have happily taken Romo in Minnesota for the past couple years. I'm very hopeful on Teddy.
The issue with the Cowboys isn't Romo...even with as much fun as it is to blame it. The issue is how bad the play calling, the running game, and defense has been.
The only thing you can really pin as his fault is the botched hold about 6 years ago. Almost everything else he is blamed for could/should easily be shifted elsewhere.

There was talk of drafting Manziel as his successor.I knew Johnny Football was not going to be taken as no.1 overall selection or in the top 15!!!SuperHornet wrote:Overall, I think I'd give this draft a B+, pending the regular season. If only he'd run a 4.45 40 instead of a 4.68 he'd probably have gone #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Re: Cowboys Draft
No he ran a 4.56 which was fastest among all QBs and the reason he was not going to the Texans a simple lack of size his style of play is conducive to plenty of hits ask Vick,RGIII!!!clenz wrote:Because he's white and didn't run a fast enough 40?dal4018 wrote: There was talk of drafting Manziel as his successor.I knew Johnny Football was not going to be taken as no.1 overall selection or in the top 15!!!

In no way, not even 6.93 math, does 4.56 round to 4.68.
Source on the 4.56 or it didn't happen

I am just telling you where dal got his number from. I usually disagree with him completely but do understand where he got his number from since many articles highlighted the 4.56 as opposed to the official time. Most of the time I can't figure out what he is talking about at all.

He's wrong 99.99999999999% the time with no research put into his posts
Even when he's "right" he's completely wrong
