So, bandle and clenz make sense. EPL seems a good start. Maybe Liverpool...

Who isn't?

They are my German club.
Well, everyone in Germany who isn't from the Munich area. They're the Yankees, Red Wings and Patriots all rolled into one.

Honestly, the only soccer clubs I know of are Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool.

No.

I have no idea how I decided to be a Spur.

I knew I didn't want to be a bandwagon Man U/Man City guy. I knew I didn't want to be a Aston Villa, Wst Brom, Norwich, Fulham, etc... pulling for a team that was going to be relegated.

I S.W.A.G.ed a team to follow at that point after a couple days reading and came out with Tottenham. Had my heart pulled me another direction I would have changed but I'd say the fact I sat through the season Tottenham had and feel like "bigger" fan now would say I picked correctly.

FWIW, the guy that does "Iowa Nice" did the same method I did with Tottenham this past season and is hooked on them as well. They are a very solid "not-bandwagon but bandwagon" team. They will content for Champions League almost yearly, will almost never finish out of top half, don't have that nationally known (in America) name so it makes it sound like you follow closer than you do.

Liverpool is my team now. I kinda went about it the same way that The Iowa Jew did, however I watched several seasons before I actually latched onto a team for some reason. I really just enjoyed watching any game with Liverpool, Chelsea, ManU, ManC, Fulham (RIP), Arsenal, Tottenham and Swansea. Swansea because I really liked how Rodgers took the league by storm and made them a legit threat. Since he switched over to Liverpool, I kinda followed since I like his style and the fact that he is always throwing youngsters (no homo) on the field to learn the game.

I'm trying to go at it with an open mind. I've been to two soccer games and I think I didn't enjoy it b/c I didn't understand the game/didn't want to be there. I'll watch a few teams, see who has the best chant and then pick a team.

I tried to be a Spurs fan, only because I have a friend in LA who goes to 4 or 5 matches a year (I don't know how, that's a long f*cking flight). But I just couldn't stand the disappointment and ups/downs. Seems like they are more of a roller coaster team than the other big clubs.

I don't have that "rival hatred" for Arsenal like the rest of my Spurs fans...though that is growing.

I really enjoy watching any of the teams play.

I tried watching soccer a couple years ago on ESPN with a team to follow but there was nothing drawing me in. I figured if I had a horse in the race I'd have to pay more attention. I did, it worked, I love it.

Please don't pick Liverpool. While Suarez is one of the best players and goal scorers out there, he is the biggest whiner and flopper of any player out there.

I also tried to root for the Spurs because of AVB. Been a fan of FC Porto since I went to a match there in 2006. I was hoping he'd do a little better there!
And no, I'm not a fan of Chelsea because of Mourinho (who won the CL with FC Porto in 2004). Too much of a pompous ass.

It's terrible...was last year and after reading the Tottenham forum I joined

Found this on Twitter and it seems to sum the Spurs up perfectly....

The good definitely outweighs the bad with him. He sure as shit is fun to watch when he is on, like the first part of his season (after he returned from his biting suspension  )

Find me an EPL team without a whiner/flopper. Shit, find me any team and any league in any sport without a whiner and/or flopper. I'll wait. :coffee:

I used to watch Soccer Made In Germany on Public Television in the 70s. I became a M'Gladbach fan then. I kinda like Dortmund also.

As for the EPL, I've always been partial to Chelsea, but I watch Tottenham sometimes.
