What's ridiculous is that we can't regulate patents to keep them from stifling innovation but the government can revoke them if some government mucky muck deems it offensive.

They revoked a trademark here, not a patent. But the point is taken, there are plenty of patents that are granted that are specious at best that probably shouldn't be there in the first place.

Washington is eventually going to lose this argument, so just change the name now and get it over with. Here's an excellent chance for good publicity and establishing a new image for decades to come, so why not take seize the moment? Many teams have gone through re-branding and beyond the initial pouting, it's honestly not a big deal. IMO, this case in particular is a no-brainer.

BTW, would anyone here call a Native American a "redskin" to their face?
