So if anyone wants to argue soccer is boring, apparently these 2 games going on right now bolster your argument.
Because of how the first 2 games setup in the "Group of Champions" plus Costa Rica, Costa Rica wins the group with a tie and England sucks so nobody is doing anything. In the other game, Italy is known as a boring team and trying to pack it because a tie advances them while Uruguay (needing a win to advance) with the exciting cheater/biter Suarez isn't doing much.
Except as I was writing this Italy gets a red card so down to 10 men. Can Uruguay exploit it especially needing a win to advance. Last 30 minutes could be exciting there.
By the way, I just read that Suarez bit Chiellini. What's with Suarez? Lucky the ref missed it or we'd be at 10 v. 10. Should have been a red. I hate that guy.
And Uruguay scores just after. Things hold up and Uruguay advances and Italy goes home. Post-game redcard for Suarez? Not sure if it can be done, but if it can and Uruguay advances, he has to be suspended next game.
So far 9 teams have advanced and 7 have been mathematically eliminated. 16 teams going for the final 7 spots
5 of the 6 South American teams advanced (Ecuador is currently in 2nd)
2 of 13 European teams advanced with 5 teams already eliminated
2 of 4 CONCACAF teams advanced with US in 2nd and Honduras needing a hail mary
0 of 5 African teams advanced with 1 eliminated and 3 in 2nd place (and Ghana in 3rd)
0 of 4 Asian teams advanced with 1 eliminated and the other 3 being in 3rd or 4th place

The superiority complex of Europe could be taking a rather large hit this year...

What I get from this is that there is a home field advantage. I'm not a soccer connoisseur, so does that usually happen?

I've read he's done this twice before. Screw suspending him for the next game, FIFA should suspend him for the rest of the tournament.

A European team has never won it in South America, and I believe the reverse is also true.

I knew he had done it before but wasn't sure of the suspensions. Looks like they were 7 and 10 game suspensions (just under 40 games in a season in Europe). Wouldn't be surprised if they suspend for at least 4 games minimum (this goes to end of WC and if they are eliminated before that towards future WC qualifiers). If they go more, that would be great.
I thought the English Premier League was good? What if the USA went 0 for the Olympics in basketball, the NBA would have a major credibility problem huh?
