Re: US SOCCER
I've never seen Brazil play before. How does a team that sucks so bad make the semis?

Re: US SOCCER
Sounds like there are starting to be some real safety concerns at the stadium, and around the area in general.

Well, you start by breaking the best player's back in the quarterfinals...BDKJMU wrote:I've never seen Brazil play before. How does a team that sucks so bad make the semis?

I wouldn't be caught wearing ANY German gear outside the stadium right now, nor until I leave Brazil.clenz wrote:Sounds like there are starting to be some real safety concerns at the stadium, and around the area in general.

I would advise the German fans in the stands to stop singing chants. They're doing the olé chant right now.clenz wrote:Sounds like there are starting to be some real safety concerns at the stadium, and around the area in general.

And two more spectacular saves by the Nazi netminder.

I don't know that it's going to be limited to Germans.∞∞∞ wrote:I wouldn't be caught wearing ANY German gear outside the stadium right now, nor until I leave Brazil.clenz wrote:Sounds like there are starting to be some real safety concerns at the stadium, and around the area in general.

I think the country is pissed in general - see the previous comments about this WC being rather polarizing in the country and only worth it if the team won.
Re: US SOCCER
The Germans can't just sit back and let the Brazilian line get to the 18 all half; Brazil basically has everyone on offense at this point. Just play the game you did in the first half, maybe a little more defensively, and Germany will be fine. Their goalie is basically saving them from an epic Brazilian comeback right now.

They need a brazilian goals just to get back in contention.∞∞∞ wrote:Their goalie is basically saving them from an epic Brazilian comeback right now.

Re: US SOCCER
It looks like Germany's regrouped a bit after Brazil's early flurry this half. The positive thing for Germany is that there is so much open space in Brazil's backfield, and it will continue to grow as time progresses...89Hen wrote:They need a brazilian goals just to get back in contention.∞∞∞ wrote:Their goalie is basically saving them from an epic Brazilian comeback right now.
...also that they're up 5-0.
edit: 6-0

Re: US SOCCER
Yeah, I heard their 2 best players weren't playing. But still, that shouldn't take you from top 5 to looking like a team that shouldn't even be in the tourney, at home to boot. That other thread where it was something like 2.6/2.7 goals per game in pro soccer and 5.3 TDs per game in the NFL. So roughly 2 TDs for every goal. So 5-0 1/3 of the way through the game would be like 70-0 less than halfway through the 2nd qtr. I mean how often in WC or pro soccer do you see 5-0 by the 30 min mark, esp during a semis? Unheard of I guess...clenz wrote:And having one of their other best players (and captain) out due to cards93henfan wrote:
