I'm confused by clenzy's over reaction on this Ray Rice 2 game suspension both here and on FB.

The morning sports radio station is hosted by Ed Norris, former Balt City police commissioner under O'Malley. He elluded to talking with AC police who have seen the tape of what happened on the elevator pre-video of him unloading his fiance. He said, that in those conversations and now with the 2 game suspension, what was on the elevator video is not as bad as what people are making of it. Yes he hit her. But both were drunk. And his punch "may" have been defensive.

I am far from a Ravens fan, so I don't really care about this. But I'm here in Baltimore and this Ravens shit is all over the place. Also, O's too! Thank God. Just offering my witnessing of what is being over covered here. Which may or may not be what everyone else is getting.

I'm not saying what he did was ok. But he said he was sorry. Wtf. They got married afterward. She apologized, for what. He was wrong and has a addressed it.

He fucking shamed her into apologizing?

You ever heard of the Power and Control Wheel? Battered Women Syndrome?

Holy fuck...you sound a lot like Stephen A Smith

But domestic violence or whatever the case may be, with men putting their hands on women, is obviously a very real, real issue in our society. And I think that just talking about what guys shouldn’t do, we got to also make sure that you can do your part to do whatever you can do to make, to try to make sure it doesn’t happen. We know they’re wrong. We know they’re criminals. We know they probably deserve to be in jail. In Ray Rice’s case, he probably deserves more than a 2-game suspension which we both acknowledged. But at the same time, we also have to make sure that we learn as much as we can about elements of provocation. Not that there’s real provocation, but the elements of provocation, you got to make sure that you address them, because we’ve got to do is do what we can to try to prevent the situation from happening in any way. And I don’t think that’s broached enough, is all I’m saying. No point of blame.

Anyone who beats the shit our a women should have their nuts cut off, no questions asked (unless it's truly self defense...and there's not a fucking chance this was self defense), and every women within 10 miles of him gets to throw one punch, as hard as they can, at his face.

I admit I may be "blinded" on this one. This was my major area of interest my first go around in college. I worked on a national study with a professor who is big in the world of domestic abuse prevention and awareness.

This shit is about as big of a "hot button" issue for me as there is.

I wasn't born yet, but my sisters dad beat the shit of them and my mom before she finally got sick of it and pulled a shot gun on his ass when he was threatening them one night and told him to get the fuck out. Thankfully my father is a much...much...kinder soul. My mother is one of the rare ones that finally did something about it, over 97% of women don't.

That kind of shit is NEVER okay.

I understand now why you are angry about this. But Ray Rive doesn't have a track record of this kind of stuff. Still not letting his guilt in this just go away. He's taking an awful beating about this here and rightly so. He's lost a shit ton of female fans here in Baltimore. Again rightly so.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom and sisters past history. And applaud your stance and devotion to the issue. You're a good guy clenzy!

Philly's WIP sports radio, through comic Joe Conklin, did a great musical riff this morning on the "hero-worshipping Balti-MORONS" who lustily cheered the fan-a-vision shot of Ray Rice earlier this week. I'm not saying Ravens fans are inbred or insensitive, mind you, but...

Ravens fans are completely dillusional about their players. They feel like they can beat up on their players but become united when everyone else is beating own of their own up. Ray Rice was a big female fan favorite. Not any more.

The shitty thing is that there would have been a lawsuit if they hadn't played pattycake with him. Not collectively bargained means we're going to do what we want not what we should...
