I'm in, but we need at least 7 or 8. I had 7 in my pool last year, but 2 people didn't know what they were doing and were pretty much eliminated by week 10. Then a couple people forgot to re-do their roster at the halfway point so it was down to 3 of us for the last half. It was pretty fucking boring.

Watching the Arsenal/Red Bulls match.

Those yellow Arsenal kits are by far the worst uniform, in any sport, I've ever seen

From last season Southampton have now lost:

Pochettino
Shaw (£27m)
Lallana (£25m)
Lambert (£4m)
Lovren (£20m)
Chambers (£16m)

------

That's £92m and potentially another £20m+ move with Schneiderlein moving sooner rather later.

The twitter reaction to Lovern is hilarious and sad at the same time

Add another loss for Southampton..

From their official Twitter feed

We can confirm that @CalumChambers95 has joined @Arsenal for an undisclosed fee. #saintsfc

Some statements from their official feed

Les Reed: “We are naturally disappointed whenever any of our Academy graduates leave and that is very much the case with Calum’s departure.”

Les Reed: “Our position remains unchanged in that we are determined to keep our best young players at the club.” #saintsfc

Les Reed: “Everybody at the club is continuing to work hard on bringing in quality new players.” #saintsfc

Les Reed: “It is important in the transfer window to remain calm, resilient and above all patient.” #saintsfc

Les Reed: “We have targets, and we are working hard to get them across the line.” #saintsfc

These all are hilarious to read...We have a plan, but we need to have no one left on the club first and then we want you to trust we'll convince people to come here..

Oh, their mentions are even better

All of these transfers have been with Southampton's approval right? Meaning that they had to negotiate a transfer fee for all of these players and if one was not agreed to, the players would still be on Southampton's team, right?

Did the players have any leverage on this such as threatened holdout? As you said, it seems like they lost their whole team this summer after a very good 2013-2014 season for them.

From their official release on their website

“Calum made it clear to us that he did not see his future at Southampton. As such, it was crucial that we were able to negotiate a substantial fee that also reflects the work our staff have put into Calum’s development since he joined the club at the age of eight.

Any of you twats going to put together a fantasy league?
I've done ESPN and Yahoo.
From what I remember ESPN was more conservative. You only got points for goals, assists, shutouts, 60+ minutes played, etc. But the scoring was instant on their website.
Yahoo scoring was more robust, where you could get points for the above as well as corners, passes crossed the box, etc. i.e, the more intangible parts of the game. But the scoring took hours to update on their website so it was super annoying.
Anyone? Anyone? Don't make me do it...

Me thinks the owners are more than happy with their relative success in the EPL and are now ready to reap the profits from it buy selling all their players at top or close to top value and letting the team slide back to the Championship League for a season or two. In a few years, they'll be back up in the EPL and the owners will be even richer.
Too bad for them that Jay Rodriguez got hurt late last season because I think he would have fetched the most $ for them.

I've looked at setting one up, but I sure as hell don't know what I'm doing with drafting players and only have so much money to do so...

I'm more comfortable in a pick em game, but I don't know of any of those on ESPN or Yahoo
