The Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed Michael Brown says the teenager rushed at him full speed in the moments before the shooting, according to an account phoned in to a radio station and confirmed by a source with detailed knowledge of the investigation...

...According to the account on St. Louis radio station KFTK, phoned in by a woman who identified herself as "Josie," the altercation on August 9 began after Officer Darren Wilson rolled down his window to tell Brown and a friend to stop walking in the street.

When Wilson tried to get out of his cruiser, Brown first tried to push the officer back into the car, then punched him in the face and grabbed for his gun before breaking free after the gun went off once, the caller said.

Wilson pursued Brown and his friend, ordering them to freeze, according to the account. When they turned around, Brown began taunting Wilson, saying he would not arrest them, then ran at the officer at full speed, the caller said.

Wilson then began shooting. The final shot was to Brown's forehead, and the teenager fell two or three feet in front of Wilson, said the caller, who identified herself as the officer's friend.

A source with detailed knowledge of the investigation later told CNN the caller's account is "accurate," in that it matches what Wilson has told investigators...

She identified herself as the officer's friend?
That will be as believable as Dorian Johnson's account that Brown was shot in the back.

Why? It would seem the sooner they get information out collaborating his version of the story, the better.
First, it's in Holder's hands now. Ask him.
Second, this is not a court of law. They know Wilson. They know where he is. He can't flee. If he needs to be arrested, they will arrest him, but not until the investigation is complete.

It seems it will come down to whether it is excessive force or not. I can't begin to guess how that will be determined prior to a detailed analysis AND trial. Even then, this will be tough to prove either way.

No. For most of the evening I had to sit through a D1B mandated Child Abuse workshop.

CNN had the most ridiculous reporting that I have seen yet. They kept showing the line of police and kept calling it a "standoff". WTF? That is the limit of the protest area. The cops have to stand somewhere.

The police acted very patiently last night. And the protestors acted responsibly too. When troublemakers did something bad, the protestors pointed them out, and a team of cops moved forward and arrested them. Then they moved back to their position. CNN continues to question why such a show of force. I question what would happen if they didn't have a show of force.

Are we going to have a state prosecutor bringing overreaching charges that they can't win like in the Zimmerman trial?

This shit has become surreal.
But tensions quickly rose after some in the crowd reportedly threw objects at police, who formed lines and told everyone to move back. An armored vehicle moved through the crowd, and several people took off running. CNN reported that white anarchists from outside of Ferguson were the ones throwing things at police.

Some protesters, led by Malik Shabazz, who is affiliated with the New Black Panther Party, tried to calm the situation and encourage people to keep walking and disperse. "We didn't want the news tonight to be tear gas and everybody running," he added. "The news tonight is that we're here for justice, for the arrest of officer Darren Wilson, we're here for Mike Brown and his family and we want an end to police brutality."

The police moved back the line and the tension in the crowd briefly eased before tempers flared again.

As a handful of people reportedly continued to throw bottles at police and protesters defied police orders to immediately disperse, the situation again intensified. Police fired tear gas at the crowd, and one person was reported to be shot. "That was the most intense tear gas yet," ANIMAL New York reporter Amy K. Nelson tweeted. "A photog collapsed right in front of me, said canister just rolled right beneath his feet."

You can see them in a lot of the stock footage from last night. There are a couple of white dudes with cameras with what looks like "Copwatch" on the back of their shirts filming and a few honkies mixed in with the negros throwing rocks and bottles and shit.

By definition, isn't that what anarchists do?

They need to come down hard on the out-of-towners that are arrested & they need to have a curfew. No need for hoodlums out there after 10 or 11 at night.

Protestors would rather risk more lives, more businesses, and waste more public money. They must have the right to protest at 2 a.m. Because what they have to say at 2 a.m. can't be said at 2 p.m.

There is a reason why these people don't vote. They can't figure out how. :ohno:

He didn't answer the question. I added that qualifier "in response to a crime," specifically for that reason.

Like Gil said, nobody has rioted in Fargo. I don't remember hearing about riots in Seattle this year. Or any SEC town that won the NC. :coffee:

Predict the riot size:

1. Officer not charged
2. Officer charged and pictures of dead negro first shown in court
3. Hung jury
4. Officer found guilty of lesser charges
5. Officer found not guily
