It certainly hurts. As well as Weiters. Crush Davis batting .200 and only hitting hrs sucks. Bit there is still some hope left.

Thing is those three haven't been major factors for almost this entire season. Yet they are one of the best teams in baseball.
Showalter doesn't get enough credit for the great manager that he is. He has a great baseball mind and it's all the little things he knows and does that make the difference.

Buck is definitely appreciated here. Machado hurts but we have dealt with it well. Our outfield is fantastic. It's turning into baseball prior to the steroid era. Team chemistry, defense and sound managing.

Showalter has never received his due as a manager. It would be great if a team that he built wins the World Series while he's still managing it. Joe Torre just made the Hall of Fame because of the team Showalter put together.

Yet they still have the second best record in baseball without those three contributing much (Davis has 26 HRs, but strikeouts more than 1X per game).

Looking at all the stats, nothing says they should be anywhere near as good as they are right now. They should probably be middle of the pack, not at the top.
