A real shame he blew a tire while leading at Kansas to eliminate him from the new format. He would have been a final four finalist at Homestead with the win today at Martinsville. Oh well. Way to keep going Junior. First grandfather clock for his trophy case.

Holy hellfire. What shitty luck for the 24 once again. I remember a race in March where he led the entire race as was 7+ seconds in front and yellow comes out with 3 to go.

Keselowski is such a great villain.
Looked like Gordon set him up and Harvick came in behind.

Re: 2014 NASCAR Thread
If Kenseth can beat out Gordon for the 4th spot, there would be Logano with 5 wins, Hamlin with 1 win and Newman and Kenseth with 0 wins going to the final four. Heck, if something happens to Logano early in the race so he finishes in a poor place and Edwards also passes Gordon, then things could get worse
Amusing how neither of the past 2 race winners are currently in the Chase but have 4 wins each for the season.
The talk about how the Chase would be emphasizing wins was really just a regular season thing. Will be amusing how they once again tweak it this year.

Re: 2014 NASCAR Thread
I wasn't able to finish watching the whole race till today. I a Jr fan, & normally pull for the Hendrick drivers and would normally pull for Gordon over Keselowski any day of the week. Keselowski is often an azz. Having said that:
On that restart there was an opening between Johnson and Gordon plenty wide enough for a good driver to go up into. And any good driver should have done what Keselowski did on that G-W-C. It wouldn't have been smart in the 1st 3/4 of the race, but on a G-W-C you absolutely do that. Then Gordon came down into Keselowski. But I don't really blame Gordon, because on a G-W-C everyone is going all out, and rubbin is racin. Heck, similar happened between JR and Stewart at Martinsville with a few to go. Then Gordon and his crew threw the sh*t fit and started a fight. Then Gordon in the interview right after the fight said "...Out of nowhere I just got slammed by the 2...". No Jeff, the replays clearly showed you came down into the 2.
Keselowski is usually the jacka*s. But on Sunday night it was Gordon and his crew..

Yep. Gordon & his crew made 4 boneheaded decisions at the end:93henfan wrote:89Hen wrote:Holy hellfire. What shitty luck for the 24 once again. I remember a race in March where he led the entire race as was 7+ seconds in front and yellow comes out with 3 to go.
Choosing the outside line for that restart was dumb.
-Deciding to restart on the outside on that Green-White-Checkered
-When you only have time to change 2 tires without going a lap down, and you have a flat left rear, deciding to change right side tires.
-Once you realize you aren't going to have time to change all 4, going back out without having changed the left, including the flat left rear, then STILL going a lap down, and STILL having to come back in to pit.
-Starting a fight on pit road when it was Gordon who came down into Keselowski causing Gordon's flat..
And what was up with Harvicks little punk as* shove he got in on Keselowki right before the melee broke out. Harvick was standing at the back of Keselowski's car. When Keselowki is facing Jeff Harvick sneaks up behind Keselowski and gives him a light 2 handed shove. Then as Keselowski turns to face Harvick, Harvick disappears out of camera view and Jeff comes at Keselowski as Keselowski was turned looking at Harvick.

"NASCAR fines crew chiefs, suspends crew members
NASCAR determined none of the drivers involved in Sunday's post-race melee at Texas Motor Speedway deserved punishment for their roles.
The same can't be said for some of the crew members involved in the incident.
NASCAR handed down severe penalties Tuesday night, suspending four crew members and fining the crew chiefs for Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne.
Kahne rear tire changer Jeremy Fuller and Gordon mechanic Dwayne Doucette and engine tuner Jason Ingle were suspended for six points races apiece and fined $25,000. Another Gordon crew member, Dean Mozingo, a hauler driver and mechanic, was suspended for three races and fined $10,000.
Gordon crew chief Alan Gustafson and Kahne crew chief Kenny Francis were each fined $50,000 and placed on six-race probation for failing to properly oversee their crew members.
"While the intensity and emotions are high as we continue through the final rounds of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the actions that we saw from several crew members Sunday following the race at Texas are unacceptable," said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR senior vice president for competition and racing development. "We reviewed the content that was available to us of the post-race incident along pit road, and identified several crew members who crossed the line with their actions, specifically punching others."

Because of Ricky Craven? If you watch it in slo mo from the rear view, it appears that Gordon came down into Keselowski after Keselowki had hit the gap.89Hen wrote:You're in the minority on that opinon BDK.BDKJMU wrote:it was Gordon who came down into Keselowski causing Gordon's flat...
