Still plenty of game time. I, personally, am hoping for the Griz to stomp Ewwww University.

Classic Delaney, too. Why not just go for it on 4th and 6? :ohno:

Sullivan makes the 40-yard FG to cut it to 7.

Longest FG of the year for Montana.

UM sacks Adams back at the Griz 27. Smart by Adams not to throw it away given the clock situation.

You can point to the punt return TD & the denied TD by Haynes (and the following dropped TD by Burke) as major events in this game.

36-26 final.

If SUU could get in at 8-4 last year, Montana should still have a shot.

Griz Summary

Offense - Key players looked like they were playing an exhibition for much of the game. Johnson gambling too much and Van & Canada passing up open running lanes to try for big plays or something really hurt Montana early. Still, I believe JJ had a career high in passing yards today. And if the refs don't deny the Haynes TD, it's a 3-point game with a decent chunk of time left.

Defense - 10 of the starters looked real good honestly. Then there was Hermanson… Pretty much every big Eastern play (including the punt return) had Hermanson either taking a bad angle or whiffing the ball carrier.

Special Teams - Sullivan made the 40-yard field goal, which was nice. The cover teams gave up way too much, especially considering how good they'd been playing since the beginning of October. It looked like the snowball effect got to the punt team on that third-quarter touchdown. The game plays out very different if that doesn't happen.

UM's defense was legit. Good game and good luck the rest of the way.

I was a little surprised Adams played, and really surprised he was more or less 100%. Without that, the Griz likely win (EWU running game was totally shut down).

Agreed about the running game, it was totally stuffed. Forte not being 100% hurt us in that regard - he usually carries the load. Of course, not taking anything away from UM's front seven. They were VERY good and much better than I thought they would be after watching some of UM's other games.

Not sure I agree with you on VA. I don't think he's close to being 100%. IMO he seemed to be a step or two slower when he tried to scramble, and he also seemed a little off with his accuracy. All in all, though, not a bad performance after 5 weeks away from the game and I am glad he has two weeks for that foot to heal some more before playing in another game.

I have to agree. A healthy VA gets way more than 8 rushing yards.
