How can the insurance co fail to pay out claims? What are they going to say: You failed to prepare for rioting blacks?

Maybe they should start charging riot riders for the hoods..

They try to pull this shit all the time. A friend of mine parked his car in his driveway during a hurricane. His portable basketball goal fell on his car smashing the windshield and causing water damage inside the car. Insurance company fought him hard on his lack of accident prevention. Not sure how it actually ended, but they made it difficult on him. Another guy parked his car in the street in front of his house, when he had ample driveway space, during a big snow storm. The plows came by and threw snow and ice up against the side of his car causing many dents. Insurance company made it difficult for him to collect repair money.

The parents of Michael Brown, a Missouri teen killed by police, testified before a U.N. committee Tuesday because they want the world to know "what's going on in Ferguson."

Lesley McSpadden and Michael Brown Sr. spoke to the United Nations Committee Against Torture -- which also works against cruel or degrading treatment or punishment by government authorities.

"We need the world to know what's going on in Ferguson and we need justice," McSpadden told CNN in Geneva, Switzerland.

But those are different. Involves stupidity. Race not involved. With Ferguson it is. To deny claims the insurance company would have to bring race into it, basically saying should have known the blacks were going to riot.

Well, they probably should have. At least for any damage after the initial night of rioting.

Race would have nothing to do with it.

They knew riots were eminent and didn't take steps to prevent damage.

Race has nothing to do with it. That's like saying lenders won't loan money to businesses in Detroit because they have a corrupt black government and it will cause those businesses to go bankrupt. :suspicious: :? :o

Never mind.

You don't get it. If you KNOW a storm is coming, you prepare. It's the same concept. Did you make a reasonable attempt to protect your insured property?

Exactly.

It has nothing to do with what color skin the people rioting have. Only the fact that you know a riot is coming. Either prepare yourself or don't. If you ignore the warning signs of it coming and don't take reasonable precautions then you lose out..

Most storms you don't have to prepare. If you have a big enough snow like a hurricane coming that's you have public pronouncements a storm is coming from both weather news sites and public & govt officials. You have a 1-2 days period that the storm will hit. Have govt leaders gotten on TV and said "A riot is coming on such and such date?" Are busineeses expected to be boarded up, and thereby maybe not being able to be open or fully open for days and weeks waiting for an announcement that has been rumored to coming soon for the last couple of weeks, and maybe still be days or weeks away? An announcement that might announce charges or that might not announce charges that might cause rioting or might not cause rioting?
