Big Sky Basketball Thread - 2014-15

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

11/14 Games

Decent opening night for the Big Sky women, not so much for the men (minus EWU).
  • Men

TXSO 62-86 EWU; Venky Jois goes 11/12 in the second half after going 0/6 in the first
SAC 58-104 GONZ; Hornets commit 22 turnovers and lose the boards by 19
eou 65-77 ID; Bryan McGriff of EOU scores 27, but his teammates go 12/37 from the field
ISU 55-79 UNM; Solarin & Hansen combine to go 12/25, but the other Bengals go 7/31
SUU 68-98 KSU; The T-Birds actually won the boards, but 6 Wildcats scored in double figures
WEB 61-72 USU; Wildcats blow an 18-point lead thanks to 17% second-half shooting
NAU 60-93 XAV; Musketeers win shooting 67%-38%
MSU 78-113 UCLA; Bruins score 36 points off 22 Bobcat turnovers
bhsu 62-83 UNC; Bears only commit 6 turnovers

    Women

EWU 68-62 UVU; Eagles pull out a road win despite virtually no bench presence
SAC 91-99 SDSU; Sac broke their own NCAA record with 58 trey attempts… SDSU attempted 0
ID 50-67 CSUN; Vandals die by the three, going 6/27 and not really compensating elsewhere
umw 31-77 WEB; Wildcats force 32 turnovers and win the boards by 22
UCI 35-66 NAU; 'Jacks win the boards by 25, in part thanks to 21% shooting by the Anteaters
MSU 60-75 BSU; Broncos take control early with a 31-11 lead
UNC 57-44 SMU; Bears win turnovers 19-11 to offset a big foul discrepancy

PSU/USC--Vikings jumped out on the Trojans early and got a big lead. Trojans caught up, but the Viks ended the game on a big run for the win. Good win for PSU and yes, a good win for the conference. :thumb:

McKinney didn't play in this one and it showed...

...but the Hornets rebounded with a close win on the road at UC Riverside tonight.

And nice win over a Pac 12 opponent PSU, those feel pretty good. :thumb:

The Lumberjacks impressed last night. It's early but I think this team has potential to be competitive this year.
