Eastern / Montana Tickets
Eastern Eagles? Not quite sure who made this call, but not so Smart! I am not even sure it falls in line with the NCAA guide lines for ticket sales but I will tomorrow. I have been a GSA/season ticket holder at Montana for some 25 years or so. My wife and I Have never missed a home game and have attended a great many away games all over the country. Playing Eastern is like a home game for a lot of Griz fans that live and work in this area. Now I believe the washingtons GRIZZLY stadium has around 9000 seats give or take and yes for the longest time the great GRIZ nation filled most of them. Your welcome! Now over these past few years when the eags started to win more and more often, the fans started to show up. Thats great! Even when the the GRIZ where not in the playoffs many GRIZ fans (including my wife and I) showed up to rout on our comrades (eags) in the big sky. Again your welcome, someone had to help fill those seats. Yes if it sounds like I am a little upset, your catching on. Now that the eags have won the top honors in the big sky a couple times, panties are getting a little large!!!!! Griz nation is a class act. Our fans are true and true. We might get our tails in an up roar at times about the coaching, but we never deface or quit on our team! With that being said we are always excited and welcome visiting teams! When we won last week the buzz was exciting knowing we had another chance to face eastern, a big sky team in a close to home playoff game. When I called in for tickets, I was informed they would be $45 and only the GSA members were able to get them on a first come first serve basis because the eags only gave us 150 seats. I thought thats ok I should be able to get a couple tickets for friends from eastern they usually have a few extra seats. Than come to find out tickets at eastern go on sale tuesday. when I called they had informed me they sold out in 3 minutes and there were no more tickets, REALLY? we're talking eastern here! So I called friends of mine that are eagle season ticket holders and here is what I found out. Eastern started selling tickets to their season ticket holders last saturday when they found out they were playing us AT A COST OF $25 A TICKET NOT $45 and on top of that each season ticket holder could buy as many tickets as they wanted which is why they only had 150 tickets for their non season ticket holders to go on sale wednesday. No wonder they sold out so quick. Now if you need a ticket, they are being scalped online for anywhere between $200-$500 a ticket. Now is that ok with the NCAA? Again I will know tomorrow. I wonder how many empty seats there will be on Saturday. I know your nervous about Saturday and you should be but handling tickets in that manor so the GRIZ fans ( and yours) can't get their hands on a ticket to see the game, NOT GOOD! POOR taste!!! I have a lot of really good friends that are Eagle fans, and even they just shook their heads. By doing what you did you not only spoiled the game for a lot of people but just think of the hit on the economy for cheney, hotels, food, shopping. You lost BIG bucks for Cheney! Thats the difference with Griz nation, we all support the school, the businesses (hotels, food, shopping) each other as fans and the visiting teams, and yes the bars! Good luck with the game your going to need it!!! GO GRIZ!

Wasn't aware that it was Eastern Washington University's responsibility to ensure Griz fans got tickets to our home game.CDA Griz fan wrote:Eastern Eagles? Re: Eastern / Montana Tickets
1). Paragraphs please
2). Eastern gave 800 tickets to Montana (300 over the minimum allotment)
3). There will be no empty seats (unless the conditions are miserable) and they'll be filled with 1000 Montana fans and 7700 Eastern fans which is exactly as it should be.
4). Eastern season tickets are still dirt cheap, I suggest you buy some for years to come!

Re: Eastern / Montana Tickets
The home team is making it easy for their home fans to get tickets, and not as easy for the visitors to do so? That's crazy!

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

EWu is obviously disengaged within their own community. Take every advantage to win a ball game for the U while you screw the same community businesses whom you call upon for support. Short term goals after all are the easiest to achieve.

Re: Eastern / Montana Tickets
What I get from reading EWU/U of M's fan forums and here is that EWU is required to allocate 500 tickets to the away team but instead they allocated 800 to the U of M and, as a result, Griz (wait a minute.... let me clarify that.....egriz) fans are pissy about this.
What am I missing? It certainly sounds like a case of sour grapes.
Keep killing 'em with sarcasm, Screamin_eagle174.

Re: Eastern / Montana Tickets
Makes me wonder if the game was in Missoula, if the Griz would have willingly allocated 800 tickets to EWU (key word willingly). As Charles Barkley says "I may be wrong, but I doubt it."mtjack wrote:What I get from reading EWU/U of M's fan forums and here is that EWU is required to allocate 500 tickets to the away team but instead they allocated 800 to the U of M and, as a result, Griz (wait a minute.... let me clarify that.....egriz) fans are pissy about this.

Griz fans would have been all over EWU fans, saying if you don't like it, guarantee home field next year. Well...

Re: Eastern / Montana Tickets
I believe Haslam allocated 2,000 to them for last year's game. Of course we wouldn't expect them to do that, as it would be a quarter of their high school stadium's official capacity.JALMOND wrote:Makes me wonder if the game was in Missoula, if the Griz would have willingly allocated 800 tickets to EWU (key word willingly). 2,000/8,000=.25EWURanger wrote:Lol, wut?Grizalltheway wrote: I believe Haslam allocated 2,000 to them for last year's game. Of course we wouldn't expect them to do that, as it would be a quarter of their high school stadium's official capacity.

A) Get a grip. Haslam did not give EWU any 2,000 tickets to last year's game.Grizalltheway wrote:2,000/8,000=.25EWURanger wrote:

B) EWU went above and beyond to provide 300 additional tickets over the minimum.
C) EWU doesn't owe Griz fans anything.
