For the NFC Dallas has to play Detroit and then they will go and beat Green Bay, finally beating Seattle in Seattle for the second time this year to make it to the Super Bowl.

Romo couldn't even win in Missoula for God sakes! Even though I'm sure it won't be quite as loud and cold in Green Bay!

What, nobody giving the 7-win Carolina Panthers a chance to stun the field?

Their season ends in Green Bay in two weeks. This won't be a playoff of surprises. Seattle and New England in the Super Bowl. Maybe the Steelers make a little noise and Denver doesn't make the AFC title game. That might be all the surprises we get. Dallas doesn't have a prayer outside of likely beating Detroit at home next week.

Other than their recent history of choking when they do make the playoffs, I really don't see any reason to count the Cowboys out. Solid defense, very good O-line, Demarco Murray and Dez Bryant...sounds like sour Eagle grapes to me. :coffee:

I think Dallas has fewer question marks than GB right now.

What solid defense? That's the Achilles heel for the cowboys, they're not going to be able to stop a good offense. The cowboys offense is certainly worthy, but that defense just isn't very good. They beat a Seattle team early in the year when Seattle was struggling mightily, and they only barely beat that Seattle team. Now you have a Seattle team possibly playing better than they did last year (especially on offense) when they won it all, with homefield again, and even if the cowboys somehow held down and beat Aaron Rodgers, would be facing a team with something to prove to avenge that loss from earlier. The reality is, the Seahawks are going back to the big game and there's no getting around that.

I agree as well. The week off is going to be well needed by GB! But I do love it when the Cowboys come to GB. It's always special!

I know you Seacocks and Eagles fans like to deny it but the Cowboys are legit this year. They will make it at least to the NFC Championship if not the Superbowl. :thumb:

The Packers still haven't proven they can stop the run. That's potentially a big problem against Dallas.

The Cardinals could make a run if they can somehow mask all of those 2000 injuries they've sustained. :?

This. Lindley is fucking terrible. The fact that Jon thought AZ could beat Seattle with him at the helm is revealing. ;)

No doubt. That trash should've been suspended for 8 games; that MIGHT make him think twice next time.

One season where they don't find a way to snatch an 8-8 season away from the jaws of an NFCE Championship, and all of a sudden they're legit? :ohno:

With Suh out, and Rodgers less than what, maybe 80%, I would say Dallas has a decent chance to make it to the NFCCG, but they would be in for a rude awakening facing Seattle's D the way they've been playing the last 6 weeks.

Dallas is legit because they finally figured out how to do things the right way this year. They're not making Tony Romo win games by himself every week, but instead they put together a decent O-Line, they're giving the ball to DeMarco Murray, and they're making sure no-one on their staff has the last name "Ryan."

This is pretty accurate.

They are controlling TOP - third in the league in average length of drive (2:56 and just 3 seconds off of first), second in the league in points per possession at 2.5, 6th in the league in average yards per drive, 12th in the league in plays per drive (made up for by the TOP), score on 44% of their drives, 7th most yards gained, 5th in yards per play, ...all while running the 14th fewest offensive plays in the league. All of that allows Dallas to hide that defense a bit.

They can do all of that because of the use of Murray and not forcing Romo to throw a ton of passes. Romo gets more blame that he deserves but has been solid his whole career. He's never really had a good run game behind him so he's had to throw the ball 500+ times in a season in 5 of his 7 seasons where he started at least 14 games. This season he threw only 435 passes, but completed a career high 69.9% of them, for 34 TDs (2 behind his best of 36 in a season he threw 520 passes), by far his hightest TD% rate, fewest picks in a season, best YPA in his career, by far his best rating and QBR of his career

Will they do well in the playoffs, I have no idea. But to down play what they Cowboys did this year would be stupid.

And Dallas can't stop the pass. That's a potentially big problem against Green Bay.

With Arizona injured and basically done, Seattle is the biggest lock for the Super Bowl of any team still playing, and that includes the Patriots.
