Funny stuff there. No team was actually hurt more by rampant PED use than the Yankees.
I agree. The Yankees determination to not be out-PED by anyone caused them to not just look the other way but to cultivate a culture of PED use through their organization so that they wouldn't be at a competitve disadvantage. Let's face it, if you weren't Jeter or Rivera and you were wearing the pinstripes you were probably on some type of PED from the late 90's through ARod's suspension last year. I think Joe Torre left because he couldn't stand all the cheating that was going on. The Yankees were like Barry Bonds but in a team version. Glad to hear they might been clean now. :thumb:

Yankees owe this guy $61 MILLION more dollars over the next three years.

Despite being a career .299 hitter, A-Roid hasn't hit over .286 since 2008. In fact, his average has gone down every year but one since 2007, when he hit .314 and had 54 HR's. OPS has gone down every year since 2007. In the LAST three years his TOTAL production has been:

41 HR's, 138 RBI, .269 BA in 992 PA's, 21 SB's. That's what $59.8 MILLION buys you (and only because he lost his salary when he was suspended for roids last year). Otherwise it would have been closer to $70 million.

The DH should be outlawed, at least in the bogus form in which MLB chooses to implement it. There is absolutely NO reason why a .300 pitcher traded to the AL should have to sit so a .150 shortstop can strike out. Either abolish it or do it the way fast pitch softball and some of the lower age groups in baseball do it: the DH (or DP in softball) can bat for any one field player declared before the game.

As much as I hate the Giants, their best OF ever (Willie Mays) would have been immensely embarrassed and would have retired on the spot had a manager had the temerity to ask him to DH. Pride in all-around play is where it's at....

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

He should have been voted in years ago, but who cares about secondary honors?

Mattingly was accorded the greatest honor in all of sports when his number was retired by the New York Yankees.

Same with a 2 time MVP born in Hibbing, MN, and raised in Fargo, ND.

Who cares about a number being retired by a minor-league team?

"Where it's at" is getting as much money as possible. And DH's make a SHITLOAD of money. As do the pitchers they replace in the lineup.
