Sly and TTBF - read these threads, this is exactly what I'm trying to teach Z, Hogan and T!! All three have given up since McShitforbrains lost. All three have been relegated to chronic whining, bitching about every percieved slight or blunder by the democrats, and being just plain nasty and unpleasant human beings.

I'm trying to help them. :geek:
Would you like me to send you screen shots of the last 8 years of YOUR chronic, bitching and whining?

Jesus. Your double standard knows no bounds....Ted. ;)

to address your point and enter this conversation... I'll say this as a liberal who really disliked Bush. My hostility toward Bush came from the FACT that he failed... not a desire to see him do so. I wasn't hoping for things to go wrong under Bush... I just SMH when they did. by the end, i just couldn't be bothered to care about what he'd f'd up.

for conks to claim that about Obama at this point in his administration is pure, unbridled bullshit. he hasn't been president 4 months even... he hasn't squandered a world largely united behind our cause by invading a country that didnt attack us... he hasn't goaded the world and alienated everyone with an attitude drived from Team America... he hasn't let an American city drown, because he dismantled FEMA.

Fact is, most liberals (not all certainly) weren't hoping from day one that Bush would fail and that, by extension, the country would. Much of the anger and frustration from the left came from squandered opportunities, mistakes and malice. an administration that was so hyper-political that it moved the paradigm for just how vindictive a white house could be with it's political rivals.

so much of the screaming about obama seems to stem from the simple fact that he was elected... which speaks to the conservative sense of entitlement to power... their anger and vitriol seems to boil down to "he's changing things that we did... and that's not fair... even though he was elected by a clear majority of Americans on a platform of 'change'" so I'll say something that conks used to scream at us for 7 years... if you dont like it... geeet out (only slightly in jest) or... more accurately, get your shit together and convince the American people that somehow your ideas don't just boil down to Gordon Gecko's "greed is good" speech.

good luck with that.

This dead horse has been beaten into a gelatinous puddle of goo

I'm a fiscal conservative, but hardly would align myself with Limbaugh - he's a loose cannon. I'm also enough of a free thinker to realize and admit mistakes. Post 9/11, the American public demanded some action, and as I remember it his popularity soared after the first salvo was launched in Iraq. When Saddam was yanked out of his little cubbyhole, the public was again extremely pleased. That being said, did we attack the right country? IMO we didn't, W was finishing up what his father didn't. If we had gone after the other members of the axis of evil this war would have been exponentially worse, and I don't think either of them had any involvement in 9/11. Bush/Cheney had a number of missteps over the years post 9/11 but keep in mind that Congress overwhelmingly approved the invasion, then the Dems started trying to distance themselves from it over the last couple of years.

http://archives.cnn.com/2002/ALLPOLITICS/10/11/iraq.us/

According to Gallup, Congressional approval is increasing although primarily fueled by Democratic opinion. This is essentially the same Congress that garnered a 14% approval last year, only led by a Democratic president:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/116530/Appro ... -Dems.aspx

The bottom line is that neither party wants to take any blame when things go badly, but all the credit when they go well. No question that Obama's aggressive agenda for the first 100 days made people feel like something was being done, even though many believe that much of it is the wrong thing to do. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on stimulus and see where it takes us, but the piper will demand payment at some time. I hope this very costly experiment pays off.

Just send the bill to the gazillionares that were born by the Bush Administration, they benefited by the financial demise of our country, and they can damn well pay for it.

They have a warped vision of America. They're arrogant. They, at all costs, believe government is bad and work very hard to ensure that government fails. They believe entirely that the free market can be entrusted with our national wealth. They are religious and thus inherently violent and intolerant.

McCain lost, get over it. Give Obama a chance. It's only been a few months and he was handed over one fvcking wreck of nation by your boy W and Congress (Republican and Democrat).

I think you will be happy with Obama, in time. He aint a lefty.

You really look like an ass getting on his case so early.
Edited for accuracy.

Did Bush fVck up? You bet he did but he didn't do it alone, Congress played a major role in the current economic crisis. The economy is cyclical and the current downturn was going to happen whether Bush or Gore or Kerry was President. Raw greed was definitely a factor in the current downturn but it was singnificantly exasperated by home lending crisis (brought on by the belief by Congress, ACORN, Fannie Mae, etc. that everyone should own a home regardless of whether they could actually afford the loan), the problems at the Big 3 automanufacturers (brought on by the greed of management and the UAW), etc.

To blame the economic sh!tstorm we're currently suffering under completely on Bush is disingenuous at best. To blame everything on Bush and to set out to fix everything that he fvcked up without acknowledging the other points of failure is self serving and decidely "unprogressive."

IMO, Bush was a collosal failure as a President but he was not the anti-Christ (that was Cheney :D). I'm willing to give Obama a chance but Change I Can Believe In includes Democrats looking in the mirror and admitting that they are also culpable in the current situation and then trying to fix the entire problem not just the part attributable to the other side of the aisle.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Oh, bullshit. W's string of failures started almost immediately. After 9/11, everybody supported him. He squandered it and masterminded 7 years of mind boggling blunders.
Yes, everyone did support Bush. Then the Dems went all Pelosi on him. Initial support due to the nature of 9/11, then when distanced far enough out, start up the rhetoric that got delayed (stolen elections) because of 9/11.

I believe the latest actions of Pelosi are proof enough of the Democrats intentions towards Bush, past and present. Trying to bust GW on something 65 congressional people were informed of.

Secondly, how does one even qualify a mind boggling blunder?
