Might be a bit of a downturn in viewership for this one, not much local excitement here, and plenty of disdain for both organizations.

GannonFan wrote:Good article in the WSJ going over the fumble rate (not lost fumbles, just total fumbles) for non-dome teams since 2010. The Pats, of course, have a statistically odd lead in all teams in terms of the lack of fumbles during that time. Likely, as was the case in spy-gate, this wasn't the first time they deflated balls.

And the Patriots' unnatural fumble-less streak began after the NFL allowed hometeams to provide the balls.
This will go down like the Steriod Era - all of the Patriots wins are tainted. Brady should never reach the HOF, just like Bonds/Sosa etc.

The Eagles-Pats Super Bowl was on NFL Network over the weekend. That was before they were nabbed for filming signals in the first half and coaching up their players at halftime on what the other team was calling. It was night and day watching Brady in second half of that game when he knew when and when not that the Eagles defense would be blitzing. Still the Eagles only lost by three points.

Re: Super Bowl thread
I didn't realize the Rams (guys like Warner and Faulk) swear to this day that the Pats, in the second half, knew all the play calls on their way to the comeback upset win over the Rams for their first ring. You can always argue as to how much advantage they got from filming the other team and from deflating balls, but you can't ignore the fact (and it's basically fact now) that the Patriots have been cheating on a large scale for the past decade. Maybe they would still have won what they won without cheating, but the thing is, we'll never know. Everything they've done since Bellichick got there is tainted.93henfan wrote:I'm an Eagles fan of course, so you can question my objectivity, but....dbackjon wrote:

Re: Super Bowl thread
The real question comes into play next season... under hyper scrutiny
If the patriots go out and win 12 games again
waltz through the playoffs
and make it to another super bowl
What then..?
Because I have the strangest feeling thats just what they're going to do

Do the teams in the super bowl really impact the viewership that much? I figured that it was just an excuse for a day for a party.Wedgebuster wrote:Might be a bit of a downturn in viewership for this one, not much local excitement here, and plenty of disdain for both organizations.

Facing the Patriots and Brady is hard enough. Facing a pissed off Patriots and Brady is a whole other story, which I why I predicted early that this will be a dominating performance by New England.Chizzang wrote:The real question comes into play next season... under hyper scrutiny

So, innocent until proven guilty means nothing to you? There's been not a single shred of evidence to implicate Brady. IT doesn't look good for him, but there hasn't been any concrete evidence presented.dbackjon wrote:GannonFan wrote:Good article in the WSJ going over the fumble rate (not lost fumbles, just total fumbles) for non-dome teams since 2010. How can those professional refs not know what a properly inflated ball feels like?! This is all a conspiracy to promote animosity against the Patriots.Chizzang wrote:And now the NFL says they cannot provide what the measured air pressure was before the game in question...

There's an investigation still going on. So yes it will remain relevant. The Pats may end up losing a draft pick over this as they should if found guilty.ASUG8 wrote:If the Pats win by 3 TDs tomorrow will deflate gate really still be that relevant?

It's halftime. So far the game is OK and the commercials suck. I refuse to watch the halftime show.

Re: Super Bowl thread
Seattle was extremely lucky throughout the game just as they were extremely lucky against Green Bay. I pretty much figured it was just the way it is and they were going to luck their way into a second NFL championship by winning two games there is no way they should've won in a row.
They didn't.
But I agree with Collingsworth that Seattle should've just run Lynch.

Seems just though since they were so incredibly lucky on the previous play. It is right that they did something stupid in that spot.93henfan wrote:Even Andy Reid knew that you run the ball there.JohnStOnge wrote: But I agree with Collingsworth that Seattle should've just run Lynch.
